TR4 Load Issues
I'm sure that this isn't the first time that this has been posted but I'm at a loss of what I'm supposed to do. TR4 used to work fine on my old laptop but since I've got a new one and updated to windows 10 it refuses to load. I have done the -setup.exe and I've tried running the games windowed in a number of different resolutions. Sometimes I get the Edios intro scene sometimes I don't, but I always see a black screen with the first loading bar which has a small amount filled in and then the exe file just cuts out. This is one of my favourite games and I really want to play it again, I sunk about 30hours into it on my old laptop and want to play again. Anyone know of any fixes or reasons why this is happening? I miss my old tomb raider games

If you run the game via Peixoto's patch[www.buymeacoffee.com] all your problems will be solved. Just pay attention to the instructions provided.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I downloaded it and followed the instructions (I think) but when I go to run the shortcut I create it says unable to find or load AutoHotkey.dll-126 I'm not sure what this means or where I'm going wrong

You are probably missing AutoHotkey.dll which should be in the Peixoto folder. Did your anti-virus consider it as a threat?

I've just removed the files and redownloaded, it put up a warning about running the initial program but it allows me to run it anyway. Then when I check the programs folder AutoHotkey.dll is there as is AutoHotkey64.dll

On which folder have you extracted the files?

I just unzip them into their own file then copy/paste the contents into the tomb raider file so there's a Program file, the Peixoto batch file and the read me text document

Try using a directory without spaces for example: C:\Peixoto, also avoid the Program Files directory, you might have permission issues.

Tried by extracting to C:\Peixoto and still getting the autohotkey error, not really sure where I'm going wrong here but I'm on the verge of just giving up at this point lmao

Are you sure your anti-virus hasn't blocked autohotkey? Want me to provide you a link with the dll?

I'm pretty sure it hasn't but if you could that would be great !

Download Dgvoodoo and put its files (D3D8; D3Dlmm; DDraw and dgvoodoo.exe) in the game main folder. Its an easier fix than any other patches.

This is for posteriority: the error code -126, in my case, came from the fact that it is trying to find a file that belongs to a Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (either 2010 or 2015) that was not installed or not installed properly. I had installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable for x64 and kept hitting that error; after installing the x86 variant the problem went away.
