Hello! Thanks for the question!

The game requires coop, so 4 players are necessary. If 4 local players aren't available, you can match and play with others online. Also, if you don' have 4 controllers, a mode that lets 1 controller be shared between 2 players is also included.

Ah thats a shame, me and a friend play 2 player coop games and would have been all over this. Guess we will just have to continue the wait for pixeljunk eden 2!

Seems like a crazy decision. Getting 4 people together is a lot harder than 2.

I would have played this with my daughter but looks like its not to be.

There's matchmaking so it's possible to play with 2 and find 2 randoms

I think you guys are missing what the dev said. You can control all four players with two controllers. You can play the game with two people. I just did it on game pass.

That is not what the dev said. They said 2 players can share a single controller, but you still need 4.

You don't. I literally just played it with one other person. The controls are simple; one person can easily control two characters. Two people=four characters. Only way one person can't pull double duty is if they have impaired motor functions or something.

I agree, it's super weird that they wouldn't advertise that it's two-player friendly. But, hand to God, it's easily doable! As long as you and your pal have good hand-eye coordination, each person moving two characters is pretty easy.

Indeed for me the best playable option is 2 players each one controlling 2 characters.
This is a original game, a good challeging game, but the problem is that all gameplay can be ruined if just one of the players is noob or non-collaborative. I am usually very patient, but with this game I have met too much stubborns that do not see the puzzle is a four part solution.
