Then I over wrote the d3d8.dll with the one I previously linked in this thread.
1. devour ability
2. moving in dead world
3. weird dash when hitting
Possible something else.
Thanks.
How are you getting the widescreen patch to still work??? I replaced the widescreen patch's dll with the reshade dll and the screen distorts just like if the widescreen patch weren't there.
@life is dank - It's been a while since I've played this. The d3d8.dll has had some updates but that shouldn't break the widescreen patch. If I remember correctly you have to set your resolution in the included ".ini" file.
It is set in the ini. The graphics are stretched like it is still a 4:3 ratio.
I can't believe it is THIS HARD to get v-sync in SR2 on Windows 10. Forcing it in the NV control panel doesn't work either. Without v-sync the game runs at like 600 fps!
PS - I never had a vsync issue with this game, but I use gsync and lock my frame rate.
I have no idea why most of old school gamers don't know about this feature, because its simple so good and solve some of our problems. It should be very know by now.
Other old games need this as well as your video card would explode if you don't cap it.
Sadly, I got no awnser for the screen problem.
I got the game, saw the problem, got deeply frustated and then I never tried to solve it, I'm just too lazy for that, I keep saying one of this days I would make it.
I'll try it out. If it works then I won't need the d3d8to9 file and the widescreen patch will work as intended. Wish me luck!
To refresh the widescreen and glitch fix:
installed widescreen patch from here: http://ps2wide.net/pc.html#sr2
EDIT: don't forget to run upx.bat (this enables the fix)
download version 1.9.1 of d3d8to9 (d3d8.dll) from here: https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases and overwrite the existing d3d8.dll (the d3d8.dll should be in the main folder with sr2.exe)
Edit the resolution settings in sr2.ini to your widescreen resolution - 16:9 ONLY - wider resolutions result in zooming.
This should also result in the game locking to your max refresh rate (at least it does on mine)
-install widescreen patch
-set my resolution in the sr2.ini to a 16:9 resolution (1920x1080)
-run the .bat file
-download 1.9.1 of the d3d8 dll
-overwrite the d3d8 dll in the soul reaver 2 folder
The game still stretched like it is still in 4:3 ratio. Here's a screenshot.
