è uno dei giochi che ha fatto la vita della playstatio 1 graficamente non era il massimo ma come gameplay e storia a dir quanto superiori dell'epoca forse anche di adesso.

c'è molto da sistemare e fino a tale consiglio di non comprarlo in quanto nella playestaion 1 il gioco era in italiano anche qui no e questo mi ha dato fastidio, come secondo appena lo si avvia da un errore dove cita la mancanza del directx 6 (stiamo scherzando... directx 6??? stiamo parlando nel lontano 1998 con il windows 98 un oggetto alquanto raro oggi) e con questo si può anche bypassare cancellando dalla cartella d'installazione (SteamLibrary/SteamApps/common/Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver) il file nominato "atiumdag.dll"


dopo tutto questo io consiglio di non acquistarlo fino ad una patch decente

il mio voto è relativo alla versione del gioco, talmente buggata che è ingiocabile.
Crasha ogni 5 minuti ,gli audio sono buggati, sconsigliatissimo.
Spero che un giorno qualcuno pubblichi una patch che aggiusti questo spreco di soldi (seppur pochi)

Allora...il gioco è molto bello, con un gameplay semplice ma ottimo, una storia interessante e un protagonista della madonna. Ma la versione steam non è compatibile con i nuovi sistemi operativi Windows e non è in italiano, cosa inaccettabile visto che il gioco è stato tradotto in lingua italiana e anche doppiato in questa lingua; quindi se volete prendere questo gioco acquistatelo su GOG, oppure prendetelo quando è in sconto e scaricate e installateci la dovuta patch per giocarlo

I love this game. One of my all time favorite franchises. But It is absolutely 100% broken on steam. It will not run unless you invest time in researching community patches/fixes and downloading random files from all across the internet, and even then you still might not be able to get it working.

Fantastic game, but can't recomend this version.

Now if they polished it up and added controller support it would be fantastic...

This port is trash.

Basically if you have windows 10, it'll be a crap shoot if it'll work or not. You might get into the game, but it only has keyboard controls. So you think plugging in a controller will help? Well, if running to the right forever is your version of help, then sure. Good luck using Xpadder. Sound is broken. FMVs are broken. The 'best' part of this port is that it's the PS1 version, not the DC, so enjoy muddy textures.

Go get it on gog, where it'll actually work, it's also a dollar less. If you have a DreamCast, find a copy for that instead.

Be warned, this game is awesome and all, but being so old, it doesn't work properly without a lot of tweaking and configuring... In my humble opinion it's better to play the Dreamcast version with an emulator.

I sadly cannot recommend this magnum opus franchise for one simple reason:

Despite all the fixes I have tried, not a single one of them work or help. The time I've logged on this game has been me trying to get this and the rest of the trilogy series to work. An emulator would be one's best bet at this point. Please provide an actual fix, Square Enix. This franchise may have been bought up and forgotten by you, but it surely has not been by it's most loyal and devote of fans.

What an immensely beautiful game this was during my younger years. Honestly they don't make games like this anymore.

Sadly I'm giving this Steam port a thumbs down because the chances of you being able to run on a modern PC is literally 50-50; for those who are just simply saying "run it in x compatibility mode" or "run it as administrator" - it does not work. This is how it started working for me... (take into consideration countless hours spent just with trial and error)

After I downloaded it on Steam, I installed the Official patch of the game, then verified the file integrity. Then ran the game and selected "Primary Driver" for the sound card. The game booted up and this is the only way it would boot up for me. It ran perfectly with all its cutscenes. I was even able to change it's resolution, controls etc. Then I decided to Quit and restart the game to double check; Lo and behold, it doesn't work anymore. Surprised? No. Disappointed? Yes, very.

Shame on you Steam for selling these games without any kind of warning and in this condition without any support for your customers; I have no idea how have you not tested these games on any modern machines and just selling it blindly to the customers. I thank all the other gamers out there who have tried their best to put guides in to help others to be able to run the game. Thank God I bought it on sale, I could not have even imagined spending full price and finding out that it can't even run on my PC.
