As for why no Blood Omen 2... it didn't happen. Canonically speaking it didn't happen. It's pretty much the black sheep of the series among fans as well as author. It is the only entry into the series NOT written by series author Amy Hennig. As a result, she addressed it directly in the next game Defiance. Blood Omen 2 Takes place in a dead end alternate timeline that collapsed upon itself as a the direct result of paradox created by SR2 which is then corrected by events in Defiance essentially destroying that entire timeline. So basically it is now a non-canon story that happened as a direct result of the canon. XD
Actually its supposedly a Remake of Soul Reaver & they are rebooting the series.

Blood Omen 2's existence never collapsed upon itself. The paradox created in SR2 CREATED the events of BO2, and the events of Defiance don't "correct" or "destroy" it, they do the exact opposite: they show the events leading up to it, they set BO2 up.
No matter how much of a black sheep BO2 is, it is still very much canon.
Backwards and false, sorry. Blood Omen 2 exists because of the paradox created at the end of Soul Reaver 2. So it didn't "collapse" as a result of SR2, SR2 is the whole reason that segment of the story exists. Sorry. Canonically, BO2 is real, deal with it. No matter how much flailing you do to try to discount the existence of the story, it exists.
Um...look up CD Projekt Red.
I mean, I already own it on GOG, but I'd love it to be on steam too.
And of course, the never ending desire for someone to do an fixed up BO1 that works on modern systems.
I run it like this. It works.
I think it requires something not included there for the cutscenes to run... but otherwise, the game runs perfectly.
