How to kill enemies? And Fast travel possible?

Okay maybe I´m just too dumb, or I messed up my keyboard bindings.

I just started to play the game, and I finished the part where I can switch between the spectral plane and reality. Now I´m in a boss room (I think) and need to defeat two smaller enemies. There are lances on the wall (I learned how to grab and use them) but of course I can only stun the enemies. Before that room, there was a campfire or light from above, but now I only have this weapon and the torch I got from a wall. How do I use those to impale the enemies? I can only stun them so far.
And I accidently skipped over the part where I could stealth kill the enemies (I think).

Oh and while wrinting this comment I didn´t pause the game and I died and am back in the very first room with the ominous voice. Basicly the beginning of the chapter.
Can I fast travel somehow? The green dots or souls on the ground in that room don´t do anything.

The game has a waypoint system, if you stand in front of the gate near the spawn, you can switch between discovered gates.

Not sure about mapping, once the enemy is dizzy, you should be able to impale them if you have a weapon, you can also pick them up and toss them on spikes,water or sun spots.
