SR1: Enhanced Edition (final update)
Final update of my mod with providing the TRUE support of WideScreen (since no one - including gog - could not create it for all these 12+ years) and fixing a couple of remained bugs of original game:

1) overflow of internal memory buffer which led to the problems with sound (sfx) and followed further crash of the game (gog tried to fix this in their last update, but - instead of fixing this bug - they introduced another one because they disabled the caching of textures);

2) problem with corrupted saves which appeared when one placed the weapon INSIDE (not IN - INSIDE) the walls and tried to load / reach the location with such weapons in the Material Realm (as you know, perhaps, in the Spectral Realm - unlike the Material Realm - there are no physics for the objects from Material Realm, that's why loading the location with the weapons INSIDE walls in Material Realm caused the crash of the game {due to initiating of infinite falling of such weapon because it was placed OUTSIDE the boundaries of location} while the loading of the same location in the Spectral Realm did not cause such crash); the video with showing such moment (weapon INSIDE walls) and the absence of the crash of the game now at the loading of the save even in such cases is provided below (I wrote additional info in the description of this video);

In addition to this I added the set of (optional) improvements for more comfort gameplay (by reading complaints in Steam Reviews) and some additional unique features for the mode "New Game+". In the video below I show gameplay in this mode "New Game+" (from the start of the game) using - in addition - another new optional feature "Faster" (it is analogue of the option "speed up" from my old trainer for BO1 - veterans can remember this feature; from the other side, it is another hidden official feature of original game which was just provided for activation of it in the game menu by me; btw: the feature "teleport to possessed" is also used the hidden feature of original game - "possess monster").

BTW: as you can also see, I removed fully in this version of the mod the possibility to activate the Debug Menu (another hidden official feature of this game, which is not the property of any fan, of course, - it is the property of CD) and replaced the option in it "SwimFly Mode" by my own feature with the "zero / inverse gravity". I did this by very simple reason - due to complaints of some people (like Vampmaster) that I use their code or even just ideas (hm, for example, gog uses the code from fan-mods or even whole fan-mods as is and just ignores any complaints about this, but - since I am not the one like gog - I removed any reasons for any complaints from my product) and due to complaints of other people (like Raina) that I use something without permission (btw: Vampmaster provided never such complaints to me personally - I hear about this from other people {like Raina} only; moreover, I send the whole sources of my mod to Vampmaster many times for that this one can use or improve them {he did nothing, of course, for all these years}, or just learned to use some tricks {he did this really}).

Shortly: now my mod does not contain the code (of anyone excepting me) or even ideas (of anyone who can provide any complaints) - for that such people can't provide their complaints and for that other people can't provide another part of complaints or just lie about my product. BTW: yes, of course, there are some fans that still provide the help for me (for example, test of the features of my mods) or provide their own ideas for introducing of them, but I am sure in these people on 100% - they provided complaints NEVER for all these years and they care about improvements only, not about their own ambitions in the attempt to be the part of some product.

Hello, thanks for your continued support for this game. I have a few issues with this mod, but nothing game-breaking like the save file-related crashes of the previous version, so far at least.

When a new set of subtitles load, the game stutters noticeably, both in-game and during the intro FMV. Also, when a acheivement pops-up, it disables the subs for a while (at least it happens when you reach the Lake of the Dead). Is there a way to disable the achievements?

Other than that, I noticed the game has way less audio distortion and SFX popping and crackling noises now, which was a big deal for me, considering how good this game's music, sounds and VOs are.

Provide specifications of your PC (OS, video card) and / or whether you use PC or Steam Deck. We tested the work of the mod on several PCs and did not see such effect.

This trick will not work after the next update which will be soon. Either use the mod as is or do not use it at all (ask people from PCGamingWiki, gog or Crystal Dynamics about the product like this).

Very easy solution - just do not use this mod. I do not provide any help / do not do any adjustions now in the case of people who provide their unclever tricks to bypass the features or restrictions of my mod.

Mod was updated to the version 2.4.1:
- the performance of the work of subtitles and achievements was increased;
- the Hungarian translation file was updated in the distributive;
- the toggle mode for the Zoom was removed;
- the hole (empty file for texture) was closed.

This version will be available in the appropriate Steam Guide after some time (when the author of this guide will update it after obtaining the appropriate files which will be provided for this one after some small testing of this update).

I'm still wondering myself how to not having the Sneak/Aim controls to be constantly toggled when I press them, because I clearly remember they weren't and I used to press the latter to easily reset my camera.
Now I have to instead press both Circle view left/right at the same time, which is annoying.

Just forget the words of unclever people who said you that the original texture of Raziel is more correct. You can create ScreenShots of Raziel (just type PrtSc on Keyboard and check after that new png files in the folder Documents\Soul Reaver) using both textures to compare them (you can use the previous version of the mod like you wanted; though I used the version 2.4.1 of the mod {WITHOUT any additional modifications} to obtain described ScreenShots using both textures). But - since it seems that it is very hard for you to do this, - so I created the image for easily comparison of the look of Raziel with original texture (at the left), one in the mod (at the center) and on the official original title screen at the start of the game (at the right) - this[ibb.co]. :steamfacepalm:

this is not about what people say , been long time since I played the game and I just want for the first run or maybe just part of it to see the OG characters look , for nostalgia sake , then I will switch to new model

I have no problem with your work and I think new model look better and the overall mod bring new life to the game and I wish GOG website work with to bring these feature in official version since they done poor job at fixing the game

You can write about this into gog support for that they provide the needed info for their tech team (I did this already by myself {several times already during all these years}, but their tech team is too specific and lazy - they can't even remove outdated / bagged garbage from the game distributive {say, bugged atiumdag.dll which was added by gog in 2012 and which causes problems with textures on video cards Radeon}, can't replace 2 files {kain2.exe and intro.bik} by their proper versions and can't find by themself / add 3 another existing official localizations {which can be taken in Steam Guides}; and this lasts during 12 years).

Shortly: these lazy people (gog, Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics) can't just remove from / add some amount of {official, not unofficial} files to the game distributive during 12 years. And the most fans do not use the available contacts with them {say, official site of CD or their page on twitter} to suggest them to do such simple actions. (BTW: I did this by myself many times, of course, but the opinion of just one does not matter for these lazy people.)

If we're talking about Raziel PS1 vs Raziel Dreamcast, its true that the Dreamcast design is the more accurate one.

But I do get how the PS1 design has its own unique appeal, with the more pointed eyes that end up making him look angrier. Which can fit Soul Reaver 1 well.

I don't think it really matters either way, but if a toggle is possible that could be a neat feature.

The archive in Steam Guide was updated to the version 2.4.1.

Additional issue of original game which was also fixed in this update:
- impossibility to use official (numeric) cheat codes if one chose gamepad (instead of keyboard) in the appropriate ingame menu.

Moreover, one more tweak was provided early also (in the version 2.1 at least) - keyboard and mouse work always (original game behavior: keyboard and gamepad work simultaneously in the game menus only; only one of them can work during gameplay depending on the chosen appropriate option in the game menu). The meaning of the appropriate original setting (to choose between gamepad and keyboard) now is just desactivating of gamepad (say, for the case of wrong recognition of some new devices {with strange drivers} as XInput gamepads while these devices are not gamepads at all; though players did not provide yet for me any info about such cases).

Another tweaks of the version 2.4 which were not described early:
- the length of official cheat codes was decreased to just 3 digits (in the case of the different cheat codes with the same set of the first 3 digits just use the 4th digit instead of 3rd for less useful features); it is some compensation of removing of Debug Menu;
- the effect of official cheat code 164 was changed from "Hurt Raziel" to "Invincible" (it can be helpful for some very casual players who have big problems with {some} enemies in this game); it is the only cheat code which has the toggle mode (i.e. it can be both activated and deactivated).

Additional feature of the mode "New Game+" which was not shown explicitly:
- killing of each vampire in Material Ream (by force strike of Wraith Blade or by consuming this one soul) gives 2 "mana" (Glyph's Energy).

P.S.: there are some other tricks also {in different modes}. Investigate them by yourself.
Hint: these additional tricks are just providing the ways to activate the hidden official features of original game (one could see them in the Debug Menu).

It is true that it really does not matter at all for the most of people excepting several ones who have the habit to listen unclever people to provide their complaints without possibility to both explain what is wrong by themself and even to ask other people what exactly is wrong (the simple demonstration of this fact is providing the simple image by myself which can't by created by such people). :steamfacepalm:

I played enough in this game (which shown explicitly uncleverity of such people), so I can now provide "a head shot" - of course, there is the {clever} way to return back the original texture of Raziel (without using the previous version of my mod or other unclever tricks). One need just to take this texture from original textures.big (I did not replace it or even patch it in my mod) and to replace the existing png file by this one. Moreover, I provided this info in my own Steam Guides early - i.e. before the moment of creating of some texture's mods for PC version of SR1 (for example, one on the Nexus Mods). The appropriate program to do this (if one knows nothing about the format of textures.big and can't write the simple script to do such operation) is the SoulReaverPCTextureUtility from the site The Lost Worlds (this site is well known {old} resource among true LOK fans; including the ones who provide desinformation or just lie for other fans about some pseudo issues of PC version of SR1 with or without well known mod). :steammocking:
