Game not working? Here's the fix

So, if you're experiencing the game crashing after the developer cut scenes play (like I was), basically its because the game has an aneurysm when running on Windows 10.
Here's the solution:

In your steam library: right click the game's title on the left > click Manage > click Browse Game Files > scroll down to Kain2 (There may be two Kain2 in the file, if so, its the one with Raziel's face as the icon) > right click > run as administrator > all fixed

And if you want to use a controller - specifically ps4 in my case - I found this solution on a separate discussion:

that should just work with steam, you just gotta set up the keybindings
when you hook up the controller it'll take you to big picture mode (its also the expansion box to the left of the standard "_ [] X " in the upper right corner) and you just gotta go to library > games > soul reaver > manage game > controller configuration and then set up your key bindings or use a pre made one

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to tell ya

Another option is to download a dreamcast emulator like Redream and play the dreamcast version.

it's still working for me, are you going to the local files?
right click the game title on the left of your steam library > manage > browse local files
go down to the Kain2 with Raziel in the icon > right click > run as administrator

Sadly this doesn't work. The game won't even start after I set the resolution. Just nothing happens.

well to be fair, steam really didn't optimize this game well lol
i'll see if i can't find a new solution and post it for people having issues :)

Your "new solution" (in the sections "Edit" and "Edit Edit" of the first post) is already included into the game distributive. So remove it from your post if you can't find by yourself really new solution which is placed in the top thread in this forum and which is duplicated in the top guide for this game.

aight no problem; i threw it in and quoted people for it, but if its repetitive ill remove it
just doing my best to help people play a great game :)
