Game crshes on elevator to before Melchiah

Hello everyone! Everytime I try to go down on thsi elevator before Melchia, my game crashes

I'm using windows 10 and i already tried that dgvoodoo and it didn't worked. I can play the game normaly, but everytime i reach the same place, it crashes.

The game chrased for me. Yesterday I played for half hour and got to very first portal "Abyss", and saved the game a little afterwards. Today I loaded the game and spaned on the beginning of the game, went to the first portal and got through to porta Abyss. When going in phyical realm to the door to exit this portal room the game chrased just before I reach the door. However, the game does not chrash when in this spiritual realm

I am on a laptop running WIN 7, and have tried compatibility mode with win xp SP 3, and WIN 98, also running kain2.exe as admin, but with same results.

Any suggestions?

I´d say it´s a corrupted save game when it crashes in the same spot each time... But for real, given how badly this port can run on some pcs, I´d just recommend playing in on epsxe which runs without issues and you´ll get proper in-game music.

I played the game again from the beginning for an hour or so, and got to Melchia puzzle with elevators, and saved the game. When I load the game, it chrased just before I get to that room again. It chrases always on the same place, as before, with whichever setting I try to run the exe file (as admin, compatibility mode,...)
What else can I try?
Note: Laptop i5-2430M, Win 7 pro

When it comes to Melchiah, if you save after the elevator puzzles but without defeating Melchiah, the save will be corrupted: if you load it, the game will crash when you touch the tunnel that connects to Melchiah.

You have to finish the elevator puzzles and defeat Melchiah in one swoop, only then you save the game.

Because I admire the voice acting so much, I still prefer the PC version.
Game's audio quality overall is worse in Playstation. I don't mind if there ain't adaptive music.
I just wish the people behind the game minded some little fixes for stuff like these.

Always save game at start location. To get there just die. When loading game You will start there anyway. That way You can avoid any crashes

It always happens also for some teleports (3d as im remember) if you save, exit and load all when in spirutall world. Some teleports change spirutal\real world, some do CTD.
