Right click kain2.exe (under steam/steampps/common/legacy of kain soul reaver), go to properties, compatibility tab, run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3, select OK.

In same folder, right click BinkPlay.exe and run as administrator. Close the player window when it opens.

Right click kain2.exe, select run as administrator.

When the launch options pop up, leave everything on defaults. It can all be changed in-game.

Click OK.

Play game.

Every time a video plays, the game will jump and the desktop may be visible for a half second. This is the game using the bink player that you opened before starting the game in a new window. It happens EVERY time.

Hope this helps. It was how I got it to run.

Unfortunately it still doesn't run for me. I get a 'this game has stopped working' window every time.

also if your game doesn't open and you tried these setting or if it opened and wont open now try closing steam and starting it back up.

Thank you it worked..
Now how to get it to work for a controller is a whole other issue..

Download this iso http://geralgamesnet.blogspot.com/2012/04/download-legacy-of-kain-soul-reaver-pc.html, and mount the image, after that just run the game normally.

It works but now my only issue is playing it with a controller. The controller works, however it is very sensitive and it's constantly moving Raziel to the left even if I'm not touching the controller making it frustrating to navigate with when the camera is having a tug of war with me moving to where i want to go and the controller acting by itself by automatically moving me to the left.
