Stats feel insignificant
I have one sleeper with 80 Magic Attack and another with 56 Magic Attack, despite that however the difference in damage when using the same spell is 3 points of damage against the same enemy. Is this intentional? a bug? should I just ignore offensive sleepers entirely for tankier options?

Level is very much a deciding factor in combat, you should mostly just focus on if a sleeper has high magic atk or regular atk.

Don't neglect your buffs, either.

This seems to work on SMT 5-like rules where level is the most important in deciding damage and stats are a minor secondary factor, which is honestly disappointing if it's really the case, I'm not a fan of this system.

I've had a similar experience with offensive stats not feeling like they matter. One of the clearest examples I can think of is when Sumireko (lvl 38, 108ish matk) and Sanae (lvl 37, 123ish matk) both attacked Junko with a mid tier elemental spell, and for some reason Sumireko did notably more damage (122ish vs Sanae's 102ish).

Defensive stats feel similarly weird but at least there the stats seem to matter somewhat more, unlike offensive stats where I've only seen notable differences when its like 10 str vs 40 str.

The main stats that seem to not be affected by this are AGI and Luck, which don't seem much if at all affected by level.

It's hard to tell with raw numbers, because of how the back row and LUK affects damage. Of course, don't forget about the random spread. This game does not use an SMT V system.

Oh that's interesting, I didn't realize the rows affected magical damage too. That would definitely explain the discrepancy in that case (Sumireko was in the front while Sanae in back) and makes me think defensive stats definitely matter then. (I've had cases where Hecatia took similar damage on a normal hit in the front to Clownpiece taking a resisted hit in the back, which is a huge difference then)
