But yeah, this is a 2D game through and through, with a 3D world perspective gimmick.

The gameplay is generally sidescrolling but you can technically move in 3 dimensions. It depends on whether you mean '3D' to refer to the graphics or the actual gameplay.

Neither graphics nor gameplay are 3D. Only part of an element of the gameplay is 3D.

technically, the game is completely 3d, graphics-wise. most of the time you're locked to a 2d perspective, tho, but what you see is still made up of polygons and is 3d in other ways, too.
