I play a lot of Professor Layton, does that mean I will be good at FEZ?
I bought it and played it. I've actually enjoyed it thus far. Just goes to show that gamers differ in tastes. To say we got duped because YOU don't like it couldn't be further from the truth. I'd hate to imagine how many other false generalizations and assumptions you make about people and things in life.
Mass props to the dev. He had a vision of what he wanted this game to be and it all came together beautifully. It definitely brought back a lot of great memories from the golden 8bit era of gaming. It was also nice to play a game that had the simple qualities of those games in a modern engine with modern gameplay mechanics. While not perfect, FEZ has still been a rather refreshing experience for me.
