The game was shot down long time ago, unfortunately. It was playable till the very end.

well that sucks. I lost my steam account 7 years ago and just got it back and remembered how much fun this game was

Indeed it was! We all miss it very much!

Right now, there's one user trying to recreate the game from the ground up. You can find posts about it here. But, yeah, we all miss this game (I myself miss the game and the show).

Said person has little to work with, hasn't really done much since they announced their attempts to do it and basically its a nothingburger.

Gamigo also will pop it the second it would have the chance to become functional anyway due to IP infringements.

All in all, Defiance is gone and people just need to accept that.
I am looking for a spiritual successor, but nothing just yet.Maybe we can make a discord about it?

You could join "Krayola Kingdom" (name of the famous clan on Defiance, at least from last days - maybe you recall) on discord. We have a section "suggest game" to one day perhaps find some "spiritual" successor.

Atm some of us are trying The First Descendant...

So, yeah, he's been doing work on it. He's just hasn't been announcing every update here at this forum. He is just one person who is trying to work on this in his spare time.

I can't picture "Project Defiance" ever being close to as good as D13. You guys have a lot of nerve to charge for access to the alpha.

Again, this is one person working on the game, in his spare time, while having to deal with a regular job and problems with real life. As far as I'm aware, the only time he's asked for support was when his PC's motherboard crashed and he had to get a new one, and he wasn't demanding the money but asking for a small bit of whatever people could spare. Also, if you bothered to check the Steam Store, the game is listed as free. So, I don't know what the problem is. As far as I can see, he's doing more to bring something of Defiance back a lot more than any of us here.

its only play with 3rd party client for private server
wow this game was great. i still have my physical ultimte and colletors editions and items in my room. this is why i hate online only games. i dont get why they couldnt have the gameworld transition to a singleplayer fomat and make it a solo offline game

Who are you trying to fool? I've been on the Project Defiance discord...they charge for access to the test server, unless you win access in a raffle. Zovix is doing a lot more than me, but I'm contacting Gamigo and Verve directly. They actually own the game. I ask them if we can lease a private server or if they will sell us a license to host one. I asked what would they charge for the Defiance 2013 I.P.? I'll start a kickstarter to fund the purchase, if they give me a real figure. I want the real D13...not his Unity project with D13 assets.

If every person who wanted D13 to return would pledge to have patron pass on their account , that might entice Gamigo to turn the servers back on....that's another thing I suggested. It's about covering their overhead and making a profit with Verve. They're an investment company...they need proof that it'll be profitable. Contact Gamigo....represent your clan...let them know that 10, 20, 50, 100 people would gladly pay for patron pass for access. I'll happily throw $200 a year into Defiance to turn the servers back on.
