Defiance won't launch out of steam after glyph update. help please !

OK, so we got defiance a week ago, and a day after playing, glyph (the client steam automatically installs for defiance) has to update in order to launch defiance again...

1. so we try and wait for it to update, but nothing happened with the bar, wouldnt move or anything no matter how many times we restarted and re-clicked. but it was running in the task manager, just not doing anything.

2. so we uninstalled glyph in hopes of re installing it. however, all that did was take away integrity from our defiance file on steam so it had to re download and install the entire game and all of its files. 13. somethin gb. so we waited and tried again.

3. This time it wouldnt let us even connect to glyph through steam or through the new desktop file we made from the actual glyph website. so we had to reinstall again to hope it worked.

4. before we could even find out if glyph worked again or not, every time we try to launch defiance out of steam, we click play and the screen pops up for just a flash of a second, and then after it says it is launching... nothing. nothing happens, and we could keep doing the same process of clicking play over and over and nothing happens.

Defiance is killing us over here, could anyone shed some light on it.
a. we have been able to launch it before, played hours on it.
b. glyph and steam seem to be having a problem but we cant tell since steam wont launch the game.
c. yes we have tried running it as admin, and yes we have allowed it through our firewall and even turned our firewall all the way off.

Having same issue, game loads up then in to Glyph screen,then Defiance screen showing dridge,then black screen as if game was about to run but instead I go back to Glyph desktop.

Same problem here too, no word back from Trion support as of yet.

Same Problem.... Actually got a patcher screen up when I launched glyph again but then got error that app was running, since then I don;t even get glyph update :(

Right Clicked the game in Steam to check integrity, after check it told me 27 game files were missing and it would re-aquire. I then double clicked desktop link to game and glyph updated then put me into patcher, it is currently updating, looks like it solved the issue

Is it working or i you just downloading an update you never know it worked till you try the game please post back here to let us know what you did worked pls.

yeah we updated it after the integrity check too and it still didnt work so let me know.
until then, anyone else have ideas?

I had the same problem for awhile as well...disappointed that support has not presented a solution. But after some playing around from other games with similar issues, I did get my game to launch.

Find the file xinput1_3.dll
Now copy that file into the Live folder of your Defiance folder

I did it and game works fine now.

This worked for me, i tried the verification first but nothing then i tried this.

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86), this resolved all of my issues.
