Arma 2: DayZ Mod

[FIXED] DayZ Licence error, cant join servers?
So I bought the complete collection for ARMA 2 in the sale, installed and launched all. Installed DayZ mod and tried to join a server. I get an error when joining them all saying licence key missing for some files in the directory. I delete the files and realise I am essentially deleting the entire game. Reinstall, same error. How do I get around this or what is the fix? I've tried playwithsix, same error.

Do you have DayZ? Because I think that if you don't it is propably because of that.

I have the ARMA 2 mod.

Yeah I got that, but do you have the game DayZ itself? Because I think that you need it to use the mod, since it is a mod for DayZ.

I have not purchased the DayZ game at £20, I have followed the instructions for the community MOD as follows:
''Community-Made Mod
The Day Z Mod requires both Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead. For the best experience (including high detail textures for all models used in the DayZ Mod) purchase Arma II: Complete Collection.
You must first launch ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead before running "Arma 2: DayZ mod" for the first time.

I have read that too. But I think, though I am not sure, that that only means that you need those too on TOP OF the game DayZ. Because, really, how can you use a mod for a game if you don't have the game itself? Though this only works in this case if it truly is that the mod is an ARMA II mod for DayZ, and not a DayZ mod for ARMA II.

I do not own Dayz, but I do have acces to the mod. Dayz Standalone is NOT required for playing the mod, the requirements for the mod are as follows:
-Arma 2
-Arma 2:Operation Arrowhead
(-Arma 2 DLC for enhanced textures, not entirely sure which tho)

As to your problems, are you sure steam has had acces to your register? Deinstalling and running steam as administrator to install might solve things. Its the best google gave me in terms of suggestions

[FIXED] Anyone else having this issue I found in my particular case the BattleEye client that comes with the mod on steam was not fully up to date hence it was not allowing me to join servers. Steam installed 1.230 and the most up to date is 1.232. To resolve I deleted the BattleEye files from the ARMA 2 and ARMA 2:Operation Arrowhead directory and then downloaded the most up to date files and placed them both into the respective folders. This resolved the issue.

Like a true IT specialist, I googled of course. There is one on the official site of BattlEye.

Got the game running (finally) but I cannot move... Sorted out key bindings and graphics but still I cannot move. Very frustrating...

Do any of the other keys respond, like crouch and gear and all of those?

Well I actually have the same problem so I started using DayZ Commander
