DayZ as single player with quests, NPC's etc?

I've been playing Fallout 4 these past couple of months. The main/side quests are OK, the radiant quest is repetitive but its all right too i guess. I've been using addons like "Modern Firearms" from nexusmods and the weapons may not fit in the Fallout universe but i like how they used IRL weapons and attachments.

But one thing that i cannot stand in Fallout 4 is the AI for companions. I'm not going to go into the details but let me just say that the AI is dumb...too dumb for a game that has shooter elements. What i wanted to know is if anybody ever created an addon for DayZ that turns it into a single player experience with quests and missions and maybe even some NPC companions that can accompany me. It doesnt matter to me if Arma2/DayZ dont have the perk systems, level ups or even companions with backstories. I just want to be able to use modern weapons (not near future weapons), have a companion AI (1 or 2) accompanying me that isnt a total idiot, has friendly NPCs scattered about that i can do missions for and that has that post-apocalyptic feel (zombies, nuclear war doesnt matter which one).

So anything like this available for DayZ or am i out of luck?

No companions as far as I know. No single player. Some missions that involve NPC's with god like aim, but not missions like FO type quests. You're pretty much out of luck if you want a hybrid DayZ/FO4 scenario.

Some servers do allow you to hire AI companions. The last one I played on that did was FinalDayZ and they would actually fight for you pretty well. FinalDayZ is also set in a nuclear apocalypse setting and has the Stalker mutant bloodsuckers and a nuke that goes off once per restart.

You could always find an empty server too and play on it as if it were singleplayer, there are quite a few empty ones. I think playing with other players is much more fun though.

Or you could play on a PVE or RP server where there is no player killing.

Use dayzlauncher.com to search all the servers for keywords like PVE, RP, NPC. I'm not sure what keyword you would use for AI companions as that would be a pretty rare feature, but you could check to see if FinalDayZ still has them, I think they are called Madmen on there - basically mountain men with M14s. You find them living in cabins on the mountains.
