What has happened to Ace Of Spades?
Does anyone know what has happened to the game? Has Jagex bought/stolen/registered/whatever the name and destroyed the original game for being able to sell a cheap clone to the people who played the original game? Is there no way to play the good old Ace Of Spades anymore?

If you have a look at the Ace of Spades Classic sticky, you will see a link to where you can play it.

I saw a link that led to the forums. The problem with AoS "Classic" is, that the server list is down and it's damn hard to find servers without a list and almost impossible to find a server that isn't too far away / to slow. Am I right when I assume that the list isn't down accidentally?

You are most likely right

Jagex said they would keep the list online. They lied. They acted as if they were having issues with it and it went "down". In the meantime the ServerList Button redirects you to the scoreboard.

Go to Buildandshoot.com they got a master server and the server list. That communitiy trys to keep AoS alive.

well thats just greedy of them. Have to take down the classic server list to just get people to play or buy the current AOS which is garbage compared to the Beta

Hopefully that will all be up and working again later today Jan.

@Genkis I totally agree with you and thanks for the link.
@Sniped You belong to Jagex, right? I'll try again later and comment here if something has changed.

Whats wrong with this Ace of Spades? I can't get why you all are crying.
Installed the classic version, and it takes me to the new AoS page when launching. What gives?

I don't believe Jagex should be obligated to support a free game that is no longer in development, or maintain a master server. I also don't care that they are charging money for the new version.

What's wrong IMHO is that the strategy and more thoughtful play has been replaced by a fast-paced non-cerebral TF2 clone.

I'm glad Jagex is asking for feedback about the classes, and it will take some serious rebalancing to get it right. The heart of the matter is the overall feel of the game has changed so much that it might as well not be called Ace of Spades.

It makes me wonder how much the dev team understood the appeal of the original. Bring back the hardcore, unforgiving gameplay of the original. Make building, tunneling, strategy and teamplay matter. Slow down the pace of rounds, and force players to work together.

I take back the TF2 comment. Valve did alot to ensure people had to work together to accomplish goals. AoS might as well be deathmatch for all I have to care about my team to win =(

Yes, the real problem still is the gameplay of the new version. I would have no problem with paying the small price for playing the old AoS but obviously Jagex don't want anyone to do that and thats the problem I have with what they have done :(
The offical server list that Jagex claims to maintain is still down - The launcher of 0.76 isn't showing any servers for me.

sniped. i ask you...will you offer refunds on this game? I know that you are a representative for your company and I know steam DOES in fact offer refunds as I've gotten them in the past.
