and you need an underground area which was flooded with water and so created mud piles ;)
you can also dig hole line every 3 tile,at level 0 at -1 you open a room around this tile and wait the the rain to fall in the hole, the rain will make mud around the holes, but the sun win dry it under the hole but not around
I don't even think I've had a kingdom last that long XD
ramp down a 7x7 on lvl 0
ramp down a 5x5 on lvl -1 in the unramped square
ramp down a 3x3 on lvl -2 in the unramped square
ramp down a 1x1 on lvl -3 in the unramped square
dig hole on the ramp on lvl -4
mine a 3x3 room with the midlle tile under the rainpool
designate it as an underground farm you will have a 8 tile farm
the rain will flow down the ramp to the farm, you could make it from the 3x3 step on lvl 0 but rain is randomly generated and it could happen that no rain will fall into your rainpool
i noticed by excavating, that with an enough deep ramp you can create a new pool of water so i tried it with mushrooms, both work
