also I think #? (#? = number of merchant stalls) come once each season, but then again if one died due to goblins then they might not come back again for a few seasons.
I wouldn't call it a bug so much as a placeholder event that the Developer has not altered for some time.
If it's been 'fixed' recently that means it was 'broken' in an update a while ago. Because I took a break from playing a few months ago, but before I took that break I was getting 2 and 3 merchants visiting at a time.
That was months ago, and since picking the game up again I have not built multiple market stalls in one map. Maybe I'll try doing that again to see what happens. But definitely a few months ago you could get multiple merchants visiting at once, I can confirm that.
Paladin, you may not have noticed more than 1 merchant in the summer if you have either only 1 market stall... or they may spawn at seperate areas around the map edge. They don't all show up in the same place if there is a choice where to spawn (and there is unless you walled off all but ONE section).
*** Sometimes, if you've trapped your merchants from the summer, you may not get awarded a merchant in the fall. Only happens in most recent version. Odd, but it has happened to me as I frequently wall in with four walls and NO door. :)
Nope, the events i'm remembering involved me building a market plaza with more than 4 stalls, with an open door policy for the base, with guards loosely patrolling the map to find any enemies. I would recieve messages telling me that 4 Merchants would arrive, but only 1 would Spawn.
I'm just happy to know that I should be getting multiple Merchants. It was always something I felt was really odd, but just chalked up to it being an early access/beta thing and expecting it to change eventually. Seems odd to me if what you say is true, that they only come in larger numbers for the summer, or at least that's their busier time for the year, but I also think that's a nice concept.
I feel a lot more interested in attempting to make a more Commerce based Kingdom, focusing on trade goods to gain most of my resources. Though I kind of know that in the end it doesn't matter if I want to focus on merchants or not, as you always need everything eventually. Plus the more you stockpile, the more problems you have with Goblins and Mants.
