Yes, you can play it in single player mode. In fact I never tested the co-op mode.

never had any problems with the game, beyond my own incompetance. it's not an easy game though. I got frustrated having to swap characters to do stuff. It's defo a game aimed at co-op, but in the end it was a fun romp. though i never came back to it

Been playing for 6 hours and haven't had any problems in single player. I found playing the elf all the time was the easiest. I've gotten all the way to chapter 4 just playing elf.

-Similarly I've been playing solo as well. Been switching back and forth whenever I get a character switch chance. I am playing on normal difficulty. I haven't faced anything hard yet. I just got to chapter three with six hours played (I'm a little slower I guess). =[

Single-player is shít from the point of view of challenge. Essentially your partner is invincible in this mode and thus you just hang back as they serve as meat shield.

In coöp the game is hard and quite fun, if you enjoy a challenging TPS (something very rare).

I just finished it in Single Player, took me 22h (I saw game mag reports of 10h, no way!), found almost all secrets and solved all Tombs (which are actually as Tomb Raider should have been). Highly underrated game, was well worth it.
