DLC(s) / pre-order bonuses save file unlocker
Apparently the pre-order titbits are tied to your Gamespy profile, cannot be re-redeemed (if lost / deleted) and cannot be repurchased. As such, here is a save file with the DLC enabled.

Place in Documents > My Games > Hunted > DFgame > SaveData - {LINK REMOVED}

NB: The skins are enabled from the start, given they're meant to be unlocked after you beat the game and the save file is that of a finished profile. I'm unsure as to how to disable the skins (play as the original skins) as yet.

Well I got the game and tried the save file out...and nope nothing in the options.

From my perch it would appear there is actually no way to change the skins back and forth, or to mix and match. You have to use the alternates. Same for the weapons and what not...you just start with them.

Since it's a completed game save if one is a new player that can kinda detract since you got all the abilities and what not.

So I'm just doing a default save/playthrough...so the pair looks how they are meant to, and I guess have a fresh playthrough in getting abilities.

I thought you can change the costumes via the gameplay menu? Which would be pretty much useless since you have to log into your Gamespy account to access that menu.

That's what I read from a topic long ago on GameFAQs where someone asked how to actually use the costumes.

I was able to change the options via classic mode.

BTW, the skins can be changed via the "Special Features" menu option by selecting "NO" when prompted to sign into Gamespy -- an "Extras" option should appear at his point where many options, inc. skins, can be changed.
ty, even tho i don't have the game YET.nice to know.

Ohhhh, I see...yeah I didn't really know about the extras thing you can go into.

Well I'll have to mess around with it when I make use of the save again. :D

^ Yeah. It's quite well 'hidden' in the menu. I only happened upon the method myself; thinking for years that, once the skins were unlocked, you had to use them! lol... -_-

When I was messing around with using and deleting the Save File with both save slots I decided to do a fresh playthrough with their default skins and I actually ended up with the alternate skins still in there but the complete story progress from the Save File wasn't there anymore in the Adventure area.

I don't know if the characters still had complete abilities or talents (I didn't check)...but to get back to a fresh playthrough with the default skins I had to turn off Steam cloud then delete all save data from Hunted's User Data and My Documents and that did it. Got Steam cloud back on with default skins now.

Somehow I think the Steam cloud kept at least the skins but got rid of the complete story progress between my tinkering with inserting and deleting the Save File. :P

^ I don't play through Steam (rather, Tunngle), so I can't speak to what the Steam Cloud saving mechanism does to the saves. As far as I know, the game only works (in co-op) via LAN and through a VPN... unless Steam integration has allowed for online play (again).

Nah there's no online with the Steam stuff. Think it can only be done thru a LAN and some special thing with that.

The game save works fine if one just uses it straight up, but I guess an interesting interaction can happen between the Steam Cloud and the alternate content if one repeatedly inserts and deletes the Alternate Save in the relevant folders.

I was also using the in game delete save option, which as far as I could tell didn't actually get rid of the actual files in the Windows Explorer folders, so maybe that also was part of the curious interaction.

Just results of accidental experimentation. :D
