So LAN coop works?
I have this game in our steam backlog for years and now want to play coop with my wife. I know that online (internet) coop doesn't work but what about LAN coop?

I've read people here saying that LAN coop doesn't work but there's also people who says that online coop works with Tunngle/Hamachi (that's weird if LAN coop doesn't work).

What a mess... any clue?

ANSWER: Yes, it works!

I'd be interested to know as well. You say it's in your "backlog" - so, you're saying you own it? -or does "backlog" mean you're thinking about buying it? If you own it, no sense waiting for an answer from us! Go try it! Tell us what happens! :D:

I'm installing it now... just was hoping to know the answer before downloading 20 GB of data from my crappy internet connection.

and... OMG! another f*****g 3 GB update of payday 2 xD

Good news!

The game works perfectly on LAN coop without any workaround.

Just need to start the single player game intro and then exit to activate the "adventure -> LAN" mode in the main menu. You can host the game or join it.

So... for people with problems playing LAN coop I suggest to check your LAN configuration and AV Software.

I think the people who are trying to play LAN coop over an internet connection have trouble with this game to get it started? Has anyone played it with hamachi over the internet ? Would like to buy it for "online-LAN" coop.

My wife and I bought this game exclusively to play co-op on our LAN. We couldn't get it working even with the help of Bethesda support who recreated our (very typical) configuration in their test lab. When I contacted Bethesda for support they confirmed that official co-op features are deactivated and no longer supported.

I don't know... it could be the O.S.? I'm using Windows 8.1

Me and my buddy use Tunngle (https://www.tunngle.net) to play the game in LAN-Mode. It works perfectly without any problems.

Update January 2017: Playing Hunted in LAN-Co-op via Steam ist still possible.

Ignore all hints belonging to Gamespy: The service is offline and you will not need it (and you dont need the following service "Gameranger", too).

What you need is: Tunngle (software which creates virtual LAN-environments, there are special channels for the different games like for Hunted you have to join for getting a connection). Requieres a Tunngle-Account (for free).
What you maybe further need: Port forwardings in your Router-Software for Tunngle (UDP-Port 11155 must be open, Port for Hunted: open TCP-Port 7777) and may be you should test to deactivate your Windows-Firewall or at least give Tunngle and Hunted full permissions connecting to the internet.

Some other, special problems are explained here:
