5/10 Cute little game. It's fun for 1-2h but kinda gets old quickly.

"Octodad: Dadliest Catch" is a quirky concept that unfortunately falls flat in execution, resulting in a frustrating and unsatisfying gaming experience.

The premise of the game is certainly unique: players control an octopus masquerading as a human father, attempting to navigate everyday tasks without revealing his true identity. However, what could have been a charming and humorous adventure quickly devolves into a tedious exercise in frustration.

The controls are intentionally awkward and unwieldy, requiring players to clumsily flop their way through each level. While this may sound amusing in theory, in practice it quickly grows tiresome and infuriating. Simple tasks like picking up objects or navigating obstacles become needlessly difficult, leading to frequent moments of frustration and rage.

The humor, while occasionally amusing, is largely hit-or-miss. The game relies heavily on slapstick comedy and absurd situations, but much of the humor feels forced and contrived. It's the kind of comedy that might elicit a chuckle the first time around, but quickly grows stale upon repeated exposure.

Graphically, the game is unremarkable. While the cartoonish art style is charming in its own right, the visuals lack the polish and detail of other indie titles. Environments are bland and uninspired, and character animations are stiff and awkward, adding to the overall sense of mediocrity.

Even the story, which should be a highlight of any narrative-driven game, fails to engage. The plot is paper-thin and predictable, serving as little more than a flimsy excuse to string together a series of increasingly absurd scenarios.

In the end, "Octodad: Dadliest Catch" is a forgettable indie title that fails to live up to its potential. Its clunky controls, lackluster humor, and uninspired design make it a hard game to recommend to anyone other than the most dedicated fans of quirky indie games.

Suddenly stopped working. Got a message that my graphics card wasn't up to date, though i had no problems before. While this is probably a problem with the computer, i'm going to dig into the actual review now.

It's extremely frustrating. It's not enjoyable, with barely any ways to mess around, and it's all rage. I would recommend a different game if you are looking for something to enjoy.

An okay puzzle game with a wholesome story and art style but lacks in gameplay.

The reason I don't recommend this game is because I cannot guarantee that you will enjoy this game. If you like the art style and humor you will get some enjoyment from this but even that can be minimal. As I said I thought the game was okay. It was cheap and only took a couple of hours to complete and the experience was fine. I most likely never will replay this game ever again.

I loved this game, it was so silly and fun. The controls sucked sometimes, I tried both controller and keyboard and it never really felt like I had control of the character. I think a part of it could be excused as "I'm an octopus" but some of it was just... frustrating.

The reason that I don't recommend this game is that it's WAY too short. I played for about an hour and a half and a lot of it was just me having to battle the controls.

I honestly wouldn't have gotten the game if I would've known it was so short.
