So when is the EXACT date for the release?

because on the green-light it says "late 2013" and on the coming-soon page it says "early 2014" so i think it'll come out around Dec 25th and Jan 3rd

Don't tell anyone, but it will likely be late January sometime. Actually...tell everyone.

We'll be sure to shout from everything when we have a real date. Do you think people would be interested in pre-orders? Or is that just unnecessary?

pre-orders would be awesome!! mabey there could be an item for TF2 that you get for pre-ordering or mabey mabey you could get a demo to play until its released ya know THE ONE PEWDIEPIE GOT! *WINK* *WINK* *NUDGE* NUDGE*

You could really go either way. Usually when a developer puts out a pre-order bonus, or just allows pre-orders in general, some consumers feel unsure if the product will be worth it, or if they just allow pre-purchasing so that they can make some money off of a bad game. But then again, you've already made the original octodad (and maybe other games? I don't know much about the projects that you/your team have worked on), so people will probably trust in your decisions. Either way, I think your safe.

Pre-prders would be great, if there is a good enough discount (like 15-20%). This game looks great but not enough people know about it, so seeing it pop up as a pre-order on the front page of Steam would be really useful to spread the words. Also, maybe as a pre-order bonus there could be a special skin or something?

According to the latest GameInformer, it shows that Octodad will be released on the 13th of January

They printed that date without even sending us an email or giving us a call to ask if it was correct, which it isn't. Pretty classy move, no?

It will release later in the month, not the 13th.
