[SPOILERS] lets discuss the game especially the ENDING [SPOILERS]
ok so for those of you who have beat the game what do you think happened at the end. Vincenzo coming out of his shadow and ♥♥♥♥ what was going on?

I think Dawn was Vincenzos old assistant who disappeared one day. this is my speculation from the collectable stuff I found something about how he lost an assistant one day and no one ever saw her again. So I think she crossed into the other world and Vincenzo asked her to watch over his daughter for him and thats why only Dawn and Vincenzo can jump from the shadow world into the other world.

What do you guys think, any theories I am trying to wrap my head around the ending of this game.

I feel like the ending was so abrupt and could have been fleshed out more. Of course that is my opinion. Vincenzo was/is an ass -donkey's behind-who left his baby momma to become rich and famous. I think there was a history of mental illness in his family and for all intents and purposes is the reality in Dawn's mind. This is a shadow world but she happens to be the only non shadow character. I mean what other explanation could there be for a place with a beach and ocean yet the other 99% of the world is floating in infinite void.

It was a good game but I felt a bit cheated that there wasn't much exploration to such a vivid world. Really hope there might be a DLC chapter later on exploring Didi's existence or maybe some background featuring Kat and Vincenzo pre-Dawn.

well I replayed the game and I found some more collectables and 1 was an add of Vincenzo and his assistant Dawn. So it tells you that Dawn was his assistant at one point, and she knows all his tricks and ♥♥♥♥ and that Vincenzo asked her to watch over his daughter for him. but what im now confused about is why is Didi the only other person in that world while everyone else is a shadow figure. did Vincenzo cross her over to protect her or is this all in her head.

I think Didi exist in both world, may be from the reason that she is Vicesnzo's daughter and she inherited some of Vincenzo's 'ability'

Well, it still isn't explain how did they accquire this ability though.

And I'm really looking forward to that scene where Dawn had jump onto a gun, like in the trailer.
So sad that it's not here.

(sorry for bad English) Trying to put it all together...

"Picture of Vincenzo & Dawn", how it can exist, isn't Dawn is invisible? But there are "Missing illusionist sought...", where mentioned disappearance of Aurora Rose and Artur Iliescu. Also there's some Multiverse stuff ("Investigations into the Multiverse"), so maybe Artur and Aurora is kinda Universe-shifters? By the way, Vincenzo's surname is Iliescu too (can be seen in Lighthouse, billboard with Iliescu's bloodline, bottom right corner). But if Vincenzo is from other reality, where all his relatives are from? And why Dawn is invisible? Did something went wrong?

"Picture of a girl's shadow". Detained (Didi's?) shadow. What is this? Does Didi inherited some Vincenzo's emmm..., powers, so she can see Dawn and her shadow occasionly appears somewhere?

Too many "maybes" and I do not know, how all this relates to the ending cutscene.

Are different collectibles belongs to different Universes?

Maybe there are some clues in dates? "Eviction note" is from 1923, so this is the ingame current year. "Vincenzo and Dawn" (Artur and Aurora?) is dated 1900. "Illusionist cancels show" (about Vincenzo) dated Friday, July 1'st. in range 1900-1923 it corresponds to 1904, 1910 or 1921.

That is all I came up with for now.

I ended up coming away from it with the impression that Didi was living in the shadow world and never really caught on that she's not a shadow. She thinks that Dawn is the only one who's able to go between worlds at the end and is completely caught off guard that Vincenzo does it. His experiments with crossing worlds for his magic and research seems to have either given Vincenzo and Dawn the ability to jump between worlds or it taught them how to.

Actually, I think the ending we gotten would of made more sense if we seen didi grown up and born, since didi is somehow in the "shadow" world and the "real" world at the same time. But the game never really explained why this is so, so I speculated that this has something to do with the way the child was born, I speculate that miss aurora rose (aka your character) was the birth mother of Didi but because she gotten stuck in the shadow dimension because of vincesio (I prob miss spelled his name) accident on the stage with her during a performance which caused him to be arrested later and then later "vanish" for quite some time after being released from custody of course. But, my theory is that what if she was pregnate during said incident, This would bring into question of "what would happen to the child" and I think that since the child was made in the "real world" but born in the "shadow world" then the child would exist in 2 plains of existance at the same time. This would explain why Didi is the only character being seen by you, well not as a shadow, and it would also explain why you are so attached to the girl because she is your birth daughter. But this brings into the question of how did "jonny and kat" get the child in their custody. My theory is that the child was put up for adoption soon after being being born, since the "'master of illusions" seems abit knowledgable enough to know that they will suck as a parent, especially for a baby for that matter. Then after being put up for adoption, the baby got adopted by jonny and kat right away. I also assume that vincesio came up to check on the baby from time to time, then later stopped visiting. This would explain why vincesio and jonny and kat know each other pretty well. Then as Didi got old enough she then gotten curious and more curious who was her real birth father and since dawn doesn't seem to be telling her, she had to found out on her own. Thus starts the game.

But, this is just a theroy, a game theroy :B1:

About shady characters (Kat, Johnny etc). Have to admit, initially I thought that silhouettes in cutscenes was used as stylistic method and also maybe as low-budget tradeoff (no need to texture characters or to populate city with NPC's or something else, I dunno). But now I'm totally unsure about that. Hope, we'll know the truth someday.
Continuing to juggle numbers. If Didi is 8 years old, and ingame year is 1923, then she was born in 1915... if it means something.

It's both for low-budget trading, and for atmosphere. When we were looking at what we realistically could and couldn't create in the time we had, we decided to incorporate our "cuts" (so to speak, because this was before we really started working on the content) into how we created our world. Low-budget tradeoff became core stylistic and atmospheric choice (this also applied to creating a lonely, isolating world).

(sorry for bad English) It just amazing how perfectly mechanics fits with style in this game. Solitude looks naturally too, because Dawn presented as imaginary character (it was funny to know, that Kat also has (have?) an imaginary friend). Also I am a big fan of Silent Hill -like games with strong desolation attitude. Waiting for the Russian translation to make second playthrough, hope i'll like it as much, as the English one. Best regards and thanks to you developers for this lovely game.

I highly doubt Dawn is Didi's mother.... Vicenzo did mention that her mother cries too much which describes Kat perfectly well. I think Dawn protected Didi because Vicenzo was pretty much obsessed with being popular, and Kat too.

I think Vincenzo's famiy was born with the gift of moving through the shadow world so that would mean Dawn is a relative of Vincenzo and when Didi was born she was half shadow and half non-shadow or Dawn and Vincenzo found a way to move through the shadows and there is no explination for Didi to be in both worlds.

I had my own take on it. Vincinzzo made a mistake during one of his acts which caused Dawn to "disappear" into the "shadow" world.. which would explain those newspaper clippings of Vincinzzo quitting and taking a break to figure out how to save her. The lighthouse was probably where he started his work to study on the shadow world.. which makes sense, since the lighthouse has a giant beam of light for him to figure out a way to get Dawn back. And I think the ending showed that the magician did indeed figured out a way to go back and forth into the shadow world... but I'm not sure why he wouldn't bring Dawn back. Just my own theory

Judging by what they can do, there was a whole family tree 5 generations of Vicenzo family (in the light house). Some bits seems a bit unclear but overall it's a trait his family was able to do. The collectibles explains few things like, the theory of these "other" world.

As to why Didi was in other world, doesn't seem like she was put there to protect her. The only person aware of these abilites is Vicenzo and Didi (and dawn). Other people seem to accepted it? Cause there were several newspaper/research photos of the two worlds. Seeing someone there and just the shadow. Heck there is even a picture of a shadow of a little girl.... In my conclusion, the realization of this so called world showed some effect on the world, in one of the collectibles people don't have shadows anymore? but will appear in the other world? However, as all humans are humans, they are probably afraid of it.

As to Vicenzo doing magic tricks and never shifted until the end was probably because he took blame of people realizing this other world? Hence he does magic trick that doesn't require it. But in his show, he does carefree talks about the other world greatness and hidden things. Trying to appeal to people about how amazing it is?

Or he is just a proud magician/illusionist and using the shadow shift is cheating? xD

I do agree that the light house was his intial base of operation and understanding what he could do.

From what I can gather the "shadow" world is 3D, but its represented in a 2D to help us understand the physics behind it all. In Vicenzo's performance he states their world is the 3 dimentional world. Therefore, Didi, Dawn, and Vicenzo are 4 dimentional beings, hence why Vicenzo's skill at magic is unparelleled, and this would also explain why Didi is so good at manipulating the "shadow" world through opening locked doors, and broken electronics since she can understand the entirety of the 3d "shadow" world considering she is one dimention above.

There's a brilliant explaination on dimentions in a video called "Cosmos - Carl Sagan - 4th Dimension" and how an object in each dimention will display a "shadow" of itself in the lower dimentions. For example a diagonal 2D line will display a shadow of a dot in 1D, a 3D object will shadow its outlines onto the 2D, and a 4D will show its shadow in our dimention.

I realise that many don't understand how dimentions work, which is what I assume what the developers also thought making this, also the fact to mention no one really can picture how the 4D would work let alone to even make a game about it.
