It was a good game but I felt a bit cheated that there wasn't much exploration to such a vivid world. Really hope there might be a DLC chapter later on exploring Didi's existence or maybe some background featuring Kat and Vincenzo pre-Dawn.
Well, it still isn't explain how did they accquire this ability though.
And I'm really looking forward to that scene where Dawn had jump onto a gun, like in the trailer.
So sad that it's not here.
But there is surely an Director´s Cut Edition available soon :D (joke)
i loved the game, hope an DLC comes, or 2nd Part.
"Picture of Vincenzo & Dawn", how it can exist, isn't Dawn is invisible? But there are "Missing illusionist sought...", where mentioned disappearance of Aurora Rose and Artur Iliescu. Also there's some Multiverse stuff ("Investigations into the Multiverse"), so maybe Artur and Aurora is kinda Universe-shifters? By the way, Vincenzo's surname is Iliescu too (can be seen in Lighthouse, billboard with Iliescu's bloodline, bottom right corner). But if Vincenzo is from other reality, where all his relatives are from? And why Dawn is invisible? Did something went wrong?
"Picture of a girl's shadow". Detained (Didi's?) shadow. What is this? Does Didi inherited some Vincenzo's emmm..., powers, so she can see Dawn and her shadow occasionly appears somewhere?
Too many "maybes" and I do not know, how all this relates to the ending cutscene.
Are different collectibles belongs to different Universes?
Maybe there are some clues in dates? "Eviction note" is from 1923, so this is the ingame current year. "Vincenzo and Dawn" (Artur and Aurora?) is dated 1900. "Illusionist cancels show" (about Vincenzo) dated Friday, July 1'st. in range 1900-1923 it corresponds to 1904, 1910 or 1921.
That is all I came up with for now.
But, this is just a theroy, a game theroy
Continuing to juggle numbers. If Didi is 8 years old, and ingame year is 1923, then she was born in 1915... if it means something.
It's both for low-budget trading, and for atmosphere. When we were looking at what we realistically could and couldn't create in the time we had, we decided to incorporate our "cuts" (so to speak, because this was before we really started working on the content) into how we created our world. Low-budget tradeoff became core stylistic and atmospheric choice (this also applied to creating a lonely, isolating world).

I highly doubt Dawn is Didi's mother.... Vicenzo did mention that her mother cries too much which describes Kat perfectly well. I think Dawn protected Didi because Vicenzo was pretty much obsessed with being popular, and Kat too.
As to why Didi was in other world, doesn't seem like she was put there to protect her. The only person aware of these abilites is Vicenzo and Didi (and dawn). Other people seem to accepted it? Cause there were several newspaper/research photos of the two worlds. Seeing someone there and just the shadow. Heck there is even a picture of a shadow of a little girl.... In my conclusion, the realization of this so called world showed some effect on the world, in one of the collectibles people don't have shadows anymore? but will appear in the other world? However, as all humans are humans, they are probably afraid of it.
As to Vicenzo doing magic tricks and never shifted until the end was probably because he took blame of people realizing this other world? Hence he does magic trick that doesn't require it. But in his show, he does carefree talks about the other world greatness and hidden things. Trying to appeal to people about how amazing it is?
Or he is just a proud magician/illusionist and using the shadow shift is cheating? xD
I do agree that the light house was his intial base of operation and understanding what he could do.
There's a brilliant explaination on dimentions in a video called "Cosmos - Carl Sagan - 4th Dimension" and how an object in each dimention will display a "shadow" of itself in the lower dimentions. For example a diagonal 2D line will display a shadow of a dot in 1D, a 3D object will shadow its outlines onto the 2D, and a 4D will show its shadow in our dimention.
I realise that many don't understand how dimentions work, which is what I assume what the developers also thought making this, also the fact to mention no one really can picture how the 4D would work let alone to even make a game about it.
