Hey Wumpus - 52 pages in the artbook, but they're condensed into a 26 page PDF. Longer version: the physical version is a booklet with 52 pages, but we felt that it displayed better as a 2 up double page spread on the digital version (so it cuts it down from 52 to 26).
I can't answer you on whether it's worth it though. I wrote the damn thing.
- Sam
hey Sam appreciate the reply
sweet thanks for the update, sounds like it's worth it perhaps.
Ha well i'm sure you did a wonderful job with everything! If you were behind the art direction/did the concept art- props to you I enjoy the style :)
The direction is Guillaume and the art is Whitney :) Whitney and I put the book together. I'm just the bad writer. I apologise in advance for the bad puns.
- Sam
haha it's fine I don't mind puns or attempts at them. I'm sure you frame the art great with your words. Well tell Whitney he/she is awesome, i'm an arist as well so :)
She is, and I will!
- Sam
splendid, appreciate you Sam for being active in these forums/discussions!
No, I'm afraid not. It'd be great if we could find a place that could produce them for us, but I expect it'd be priced pretty highly (and certainly far higher than the digital version).
Honest question, if it was available in hard copy, what would you be prepared to pay for it?
- Sam
If it's the same as the digital one, I'd probably be prepared to pay up to $25-$30 for a hardcover copy.
I got The Art of Alice: Madness Returns for around £25 which would be something like $40, but that's a really extensive book at almost 200 pages. So for a 52 page one, $25-$30 seems about right to me.
Yep - you can buy the soundtrack on iTunes. If you buy the whole album, the art book unlocks (see the bottom of the song list). It's $6 (US), so it's $1 more than buying the Collector's Edition on Steam.
