Many forget Alex Proyas wrote the novelization, which I've read btw, some of it is the same, though in the novel one of the major scenes [the discovery] is that the 'supposed' prostitute had a daughter, who Emma finds in a closet. It wasn't really crucial to the story, except for it showing compassion from Emma, so that's probably why they cut it from the movie. Much of that novel was very close to the film and an interesting read, not boring at all. Believe me, if I get bored I'm usually putting a book down. But then again, we wouldn't expect the writer of 'Terminator' to be shoddy in interest. I could definitely see how Contrast might have been inspired by 'Dark City' for sure, but alot of French films are usually styled in ways many American films are not, although sometimes them making sense isn't always at the front, but in some ways I do respect the art direction...just in a general sense. Yes, sometimes Easter eggs can be cool and fun to find.
