How do you plant a seed (tree, grass....)

Hi, i try to plant a seed, but i don't figure how. The only option he give me when i have a box of seed in my hand, is drop "X". I am on dirt ground. Can you help me please?

You need to research a plantbox. small ones are needed for grains and grass mushrooms etc. big ones are used for trees and bushes.
