How do you get iron? Also it seems Exploration office is bugged.

I'm not sure whether there are iron ore on the map or not, or do I have to get only from exploration.

If I can get them on the map itself, it seems the resources distribution on the map is quite terrible. Because I have dig my map quite far already if use the treasure box as center I dug 80 tiles to the left, 80 tiles downward and 60 tiles to the right (the explore area is almost square shape) and I still can't find a single iron ore. As for my copper I have to dig down 46 tiles to find it. For gold from the map I dug as above I can find only 25 tiles.

If I have to get the iron from exploration only, then it is impossible at the moment since the exploration office is bugged. I tried sending out 3 groups of 3 explorers each to gather iron ore, jungle log and dirt. It is said that if fail I will get 1 resource, but if success I will get from 16-24 resources. After try reloading several times, if the announcement is successful exploration I will get 0 of the resources. If no announcement I will get 1 resource (So I guess this is a fail exploration).
So no matter how many rat I sent I can get only 1 or 0 of the resources I want only.

I play on this seed - 1601196925 - and there is plenty of Copper, Iron and Gold ore not too far down from the starting area. Plenty of fish, spiders, bees, etc as well. The ground floor also has rabbits, grain, flowers, etc.

Iron is in the crystal biome and plenty very deep in the map.

So lucky I can't find a single iron or spider.

Does any of you have problem using Exploration office too? Or is it just me?

Yup I already use captured mode. Just that my map iron happen to be very far away. I found it now thank you

You can make a bug report in the bug subforum for the exploration office. I sadly can't test it in this patch, but it worked before.

the exploration office is working just fine
while exploring you can find cities. you open trade routes with them using the diplomatic office, then you can use the trading post to buy any type of item from them

i just sell them chairs and animals, then buy any ore/salt/lime i need.

It's not certain. I try it for successful exploration several times so far I only got twice which I get resources as intended. The rest although successful I get 0

Below I test out exploration to gather iron ore, most times I get 0 for successful exploration. But twice I got 16 iron ore with the successful exploration. Both getting 0 and 16 iron are from the same exploration I keep reloading it to test this.
