But sometimes I do get this frozen rats in front of chest for no reason, even triggering lost rat msg
Checking it by press G > Statistics > press R (move to Ratizen tab) > List of Ratizens > click a random rat > press R (move to Happiness tab) > click on Food. Here if it show that 90-100% Grain/Meat, so the rat don't want it Grain/Meat anymore. You need to produce Milk/Fish/Mushroom/Bread etc...
rabbit farms are really important food source for the milk, especially if you are still having water trouble and can't grow grain properly yet.
sometimes u upgraded into producing higher class food, that lower class cant enjoy.
sometimes u didnt give enough welfare to poor peasants that they cant afford food.
While Ratziens do sometimes commit crimes and steal food, for the most time they follow all settings and it is up to the player to make sure to use those to make the city run smoothly. It would be pretty annoying if settings are routinely ignored instead of giving warnings when something is not working well. For Ratopia specifically, those also lean into the class system and are a big reason to raise the class of Ratizens, to enable them getting more buffs.
