Frogs and Armadillos being a difficult to acquire product wouldn't be bad if their economy was a bit better. Armadillos almost look like they give more leather than rabbits on average, but if you count the extra transit and hassle of moving products around, it rapidly becomes just an overall worse way to produce leather. Same issue with frogs and meat. Unless Armadillos or Frogs spawn literally right under your base, there is no reason to ever bother with them.
Frogs are almost worth gathering if you want to run the service buildings that consume them, maybe. I haven't wanted to yet in any playthroughs, but maybe someone has.
