Missing cristal tree ?

I've finally a good self-sustaining colony (on third try) but... I can't find cristal trees. It's not that I havent found them yet (I believe) but that they seem to be inexistent. I have uncovered most of the black void except for some of the dirt cubes at the bottom of the map, I've looked everywhere just in case, using both the normal view, the picture taking option from the menu and the telescope. This tree seems to be missing from the map (as well as the jewelry bug crwling around). At first I thought I could wait for the exchanges with other colonies to buy some seed, but jokes on me none sell seeds.
Could I be looking wrong or is it possible I am missing ressources on the map ?

maps are randomly generated except for there always beeing a large tree etc. other materials u can trade with other colonies :)

Yeah I get that, but I'd like to get at least one crystal tree... I understand you don't have the same amount of gold, iron and mud depending on the map, but for it to be totally missing worries me a bit.
