The collapsed mine/ piggy stratagy?

Anyone have tips for fighting piggy? When I knock out the stalactites above his head, by the time I clime back down he's basically done being stunned, and is back to healing 50 health every couple of hits. Am I just missing something? Or should I just be coming back later when I out dps his healing?

This fight is incredibly easy if you equip a bow. It's going to take a bit of time but is going to be almost safe.
First of all, mine away blocks so you have a clear shot at the boss. Then climb up and shoot down both stalactites to stop him from healing. You can reach both stalactites from the same side due to your range.
Then all you need to do is climb back down and shoot him from a safe distance: Only thing you need to watch out for is his very obvious tell for when he's about to use the super AoE attack, at which point you just cimb up the ladder and chill until it's dispersed. Shoot down the stalactites again when they respawn, rinse and repeat.

Bring your 5 man squad in, let them "defend" right in front of the giant rat while I went for the stalactites.

The way Piggy works is that he heals only while stalactites are dripping. So shoot stalactites the moment they show up, then keep shooting Piggy.

Bring 5 jungle warriors, they are extremely strong.

What I do:
1.- Get warriors in the right side close to Piggy, waiting orders.
2.- Destroy top right stalactite, Piggy will get stun.
3.- Order warriors to go ham on Piggy.
4.- Move to the top left stalactite to destroy it. Don't forget to move your warriors to the right side again once Piggy is no longer stun, while you move to the other side.
5.- Once you have Piggy stun again, go ham with your warriors and YOU.
6.- Even if Piggy uses gas, NO FEAR. Once it dies the gas will go away along with him.
7.- Profit.

The fight won't start until you hitting him. Position your 5-10 troops right next to him while you climb up and damage both stalactites but don't destroy it. Drop it to 1 hit. Then you break one and go break another one. Piggy will die before he come out of stun if you have 10 warriors.

Wait, you can have more than a 5 man squad? Does Tents stack???

You can assign 5 troops to each tent. If you have 2 tents then you can have 2 squads.

I like have two squads one as a royal guard and the other as town patrol

You can also just put all the terrible rats you don't like in a squad and send them to die.

I've been able to solo him at the beginning of the game. It's just as others have suggested. Take out the stalactites on both sides, walk back and forth to dodge his attacks(You can get roughly 5 hits in with your starter weapon and still have a bit of breathing room to maneuver to the left or right to dodge his attack). Once he gets roughly half health, he'll start to puff up. Move to the right and jump behind the two high blocks and wait behind it until the mist clears. Then he'll do it again at roughly 25%. Just make sure you continue to clear the stalactites when they respawn.

Soloing him is also a great tactic to bolster your strength. If you're decent at dodging his attacks, you can even use him as a sort of exp farm.

Click the reward you get from defeating the boss. After selecting your reward, you should be able to leave the mine.

If you have selected the reward and you are still in the mine, I would suggest a restart to an earlier and post on the bug section of the forum so that gets patched.

So, I did not know what this was. I saved the game. I went in by myself, with original weapon, on hard. I realize I cannot do this boss. I reload my save and it puts me back in the cave even though I saved outside the cave. I go back to several older saves and every single one places me in the cave. So, I think I am just done then? Need to restart the game? That's terribly lame.

Exit and load a previous day (try two days back) from the main menu. Load a previous game completely - like another map seed - if you're still having issues, and then 1-3 days back should work. It annoyed me too.
