Water water?
How to direct the water to collect where you have collection chambers waiting for it?

So far as I figured out, having a hole in the ground, then putting a ladder in the hole allows water to fall down and collect. At first I thought Roof tiles could help.. but they just absorb the water?

And what stops the water collector from collecting your fishing hole's dry?

I think the only way to stop the water collector from grabbing the water out of the fishing hole is to make sure the fishing hole is out of the collector's range.

with the fishing hole i can help you. when you select a building like the water collector you have one tab that like a wheel cog its on the upper section if i recall right. there you can select the range the worker will search for water. the dew catchers are pretty awesome to build infinite watertanks. but be carefull ladders into the tank are dangerous since you collector could drown himself at higher strengh levels. took me a time to construct one that is drown proof.

Water seems to only absorb into dirt from what I can tell. If you build a water collector out of stone or wood, it should hold your water supply.

I saw another user make a novel suggestion for the shape of your water collector. Water pours in during rain in the bigger portion of this tank.

As it fills up this one tile layer at the bottom, you can have an adjacent water tank draw water from the bottom. You won't need to have a large radius either, it's very convenient. This ensures you'll have a lasting supply of water accumulating for a long time, even during droughts and winter months. It's also a good idea to build a ladder inside this tank to get in and out during construction or accidents.

You could deactivate building, or just unassign employee, it will stop

its important to remove the ladders later in the game so the water fetchers have no access to the tank later since they tend use to drown themself. i use this design myself its awesome
