Basic Rat Rights or we RIOT
Ok, this system of poor class, middle class, high class needs to be seriously re-balanced.
This came to my attention during a winter event where a poor rat asked for clothes to survive the coming snow storm.
I was like, why didn't you buy them??? You have the money.
Then I noticed the horrible truth of poor people not allowed to purchase basic clothes...

Why in the Great Horned Rat's name is bread, clothes, shoes, some cook food, not allowed to be bought by the poor class! Unacceptable.

I don't see homeless people irl not being allowed to buy clothes, food, shoes, bread, etc. Sure they will have very little money, but not everyone is cruel to not allow the homeless to buy food or clothes with the little money they have.

Can you imagine allowing the homeless to roam naked on the streets?
Yeah, I don't think anybody wants that to happen.

AGAIN, we seriously need Basic Rat Rights!
Poor rats should be allowed to buy bread, clothes, shoes, cooked food, etc.

Yes, I know we can change this with the law system, but again...
Why is this not a basic right? Why must WE change it?

Give us Basic Rat Rights or we RIOT!

Quick suggestion on this post:
New tiers of clothes, food, shoes. If you want to keep the social ranks in game.
Here are some examples...

Poor tier:
Basic clothes, basic shoes, bread, cooked meat, cooked fish.

Middle class tier:
worker clothes, worker shoes, honey bread, great meat meal, great fish meal.

High class tier:
ratisigner clothes, rat vuitton shoes, fancy cake, bunny beef Wellington, king fish special.

Since reIize that, I just change the law for those poor rat able to buy clothes and shoes, this would also quickly increase the middle class in my town.

That's why you have laws. To support and discriminate to your heart's content.

Those poor bread, clothes, shoes, and cook food are luxury items for flexing. God has given you grain, your skin, your foot and a stomach, why would you ask for more? In real life the church was very much against forks and shoes, claiming that they are excessive and using them is a moral failure.

I'm not going to riot because you don't want to play the game the devs built...

The problem is that the law system is TOO restrictive. you have to have an individual commercial law for every item you want to change which classes have access to what items or buildings. That means if you want everyone to have shoes and clothes, that's two individual laws. That gets messy when you also want to increase or lower the price to use buildings like toilets, because each of THOSE is a new law. You only get 1 law in each category per Prosperity level.

Yes, there should be an extended law or multiple options in a single law.

Even a law that allows freedom of ratizens to have access to ALL services and consumables as long they have the money to pay.

You don't pass laws to allow things, you pass laws to restrict things. The default should be that everything is allowed.

A good idea on paper, however making all these new items are going to need more ratizens to produce them, more ratizens to make the materials, more ratizens to get the basic materials for the weavers, and suddenly you need three times as many ratizens for the same task. Besides, there are two tiers of clothing items already, so you can just make the base one for commoners and middle tier and the fancy coats for the upper class.
