Rat get lost, don't sleeping on bed
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3078720086

I play this game by citieskyline way, residential area in the middle(in the tree) , the commercial district and industrial area at two side of the tree , soon I found those rat can't find way sometime , and sleeping on the ground no matter bed just near then.

What happen? I am sure there is 3 ladder in 3 area, the distance is not too long , What I need? did they need bus? or build real road so rat can use the car in their pocket?

i think the game wants u to build forward mini base with beds, toilets next to their work station. centralized base might be hard for rats(they walk more than working)

im trying new way of playing with several small storage/bunkers/toilets and see what happens

Their bed just at right in the picture, if they can't find way to bed at this distance , it is very wrong for a "city building game" . the way finding AI is bad in Citieskyline I think before, and now this is new high level.

Too much distance between stuff. I dont see a toilet anywhere in that picture, which means they are going from bed, to work, to storage to eat, then running to a toilet and they dont have the stamina to make it back to bed. You'll find it more effective to build mini compounds, OR add in a ladder about midway in that screenshot. Also don't let rats with negative perks immigrate to your city, that 30% less stam or even the 10% less speed ends up being super problematic.

This is how i build my cities now. Ladder,. Toilet, production building (or 2), then 2 bunk beds, then ladder, and then every 2nd floor gets a joy building.

yea i build 3 side storage location on west(food/wood) east(food/wood)

south(stone/mineral), i build toilet above storage and bunker beds below storage, work station on left and right of storage. later i might put a grinder and massage building near it

top of the screen i build military camp, toilet, bunkerbed and arena all toegether as well

i was playing oxygen not included, so this game is totally different XD, but they all benefit from small colony

yep... i found out the hard way. Kept all the rat beds on one side and as I dug deeper they just couldn't make it to the beds anymore xD At that point managing the colony is a chore...

In the picture at right , you can see a rat on the bed , she is a warrior , and she is working at B1 level , under the city entry , out of picture. I can't understand why some rat can walk more way back to bed , some just can't. maybe the patch ruin the AI or something , it didn't happen at demo .

I get what you're trying to say but the game just doesn't work like that at the moment. Seriously, the pathfinding is too bad and the rat laughably too slow for the gamespeed. If EVERYTHING a rat need to use the entire day isn't withing a 10 or so block square, your city is going to have problems. And you'll still need plenty of ladders. Yes, that doesn't make sense from a real world city design stand point, but that's something you'll have to take up with the devs.

On the other hand this get SLIGHTLY more manageable once you have production lines for a couple of produces that give bonuses, Like shoes, and pottery.

Does the warrior rat have the stanima perk or the movement speed bonus perk? Youd be surprised how little things add up. On my last ruined city i watched the same rat for 3 in game days to watch what he did. And it was the distance/pathfinding that was causing the issues.

(It is same rat who sleeping on the ground)

No, it kind random I found now , sometime rat can walk back to their bed , sometime they just sleep on the ground even front the toilet. and I am sure they can walk very far way , I saw a rat down to B26 (3 blocks high for 1 level) to pick up stone back to lobby still can back to the bed , but sometime they just leave the school at 4F then sleeping on the ground even his bed just down the stair. The warrior one only have smart and +5 happiness in battle perk , so I didn't think it is perk issue .

Maybe AI just can't manage their stanima well....
