Crime can be a social signal as much as any other. Theft is the most obvious example, you could try and cover over it with more police to keep everyone in line, but if lots of people are stealing the same category of items that could indicate it's too expensive/there's no appropriate cheaper substitutes, or if theft is rampant in general that there's an overall wealth issue.
Ohhhh hell yeah. Cant wait :) Im super keen to see how many crazy laws we can impose. Also wanted to say loving the music score, its beautiful. Hope there is more where that came from :)
I completely agree, and was mostly being simple for the purpose of explaining myself. I think the differences in traits, happiness, circumstances would be great. I can see it getting quite complex, like with your example about what is being stolen and if the price reflects the actual supply demand. At this stage in theory with enough time, you could make poor districts, and rich districts.
Would be interesting to see if the poor would steal from their own area, or go to a rich area where they have bread instead of just grain or something. I have confidence the devs will make an awesome system, but I also understand how hard coding is. So I guess we will see what ends up happening. Love the ideas though! This game already has heaps of layers, cant wait to see more.
