Computer crashed seconds after save finished, now save data is corrupted?
Bought it during the sale and put 21 hours in 3 days, went to save before going through the vale. It finished saving and let me start moving and then my computer crashed.

Now everytime I launch, it says "System data could not be read due to data corruption. Please close the game and confirm the status of the save data."

I tried verifying system files and no luck. Am I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ here if I dont have backups? Im legit so distraught over this :(

The saves would be in:
%appdata%\Rune Factory 3 Special
Copy this and paste it in your file browser's adress bar.

If you correctly wrote the error message, it could be only the system data (rf3_sys.sav) that is corrupted, your saves themselves might be fine.
Not sure if you can "save" your saves just by deleting that single file (or maybe just rename it in case it can be edited back into the correct data) but it could be worth trying at least.

In that folder I have SaveData0.sav, Savesystem.sav, Settings.json, and steam_autocloud.vdf.
No rf3_sys.sav data and maybe thats because of when I verified system files.

I will say SaveData0/SaveSystem last modified at 4:20pm, steamcloud 20 minutes later, and settings.json most likely last time I tried launching

That would be Savesystem.sav then, I based my answer on RF4's file name but apparently they used a different file name for RF3.

EDIT: On a separate note, you seem to only have 1 save, you might want to at least cycle between 2-3 saves so you have a backup in case one gets lost or corrupted (or just wanting to go back because you failed something).

Alright tried renaming, then copying to somewhere else and deleting, then all that +plus turning off steam cloud and it either A. makes a new savesystem file and my save doesnt show up or B. I try the old savesystem and it still shows that error.

Ur right though usually I make multiple saves in rpgs and etc but the one time I get lazy I get boned

Something you could try (not sure if it will work but could be worth trying) would be to rename your SaveData0.sav (on top of deleting the systemSave one), then start a new game, save it in the first slot, close the game (make sure steam cloud is off) then delete the new SaveData0.sav and rename your old one under that name.

THANK you man that worked! Already had counted it down and out but it pulled through from your help! Appreciate it!

Glad that worked because that was the last bit that had a chance to work at all.
Have fun with the game then.
