I wanted to make a central bug thread so you all know what we're working on and what information we need when you email us about any game bugs you encounter. We'll be trying to scour the threads for new issues, but if a bug is not up here already please post it in this thread so it'll be easy for us to find. We'd like to keep this thread focused on addressing gameplay issues, so for any questions or comments on other topics, please email [e-mail].

Useful debug information:

• DxDiag output
  
• Steps to reproduce the issue
  
• Screenshot of in-game settings
  
• Crash dump files
  Often located here %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps
  It would be from "Rune Factory 3 Special.exe"

Please email [e-mail] with these details if you are experiencing issues with the game.

Here are some tips to make sure you're getting the best performance out of your PC!

• Make sure your graphics card is being fully utilized:
  
  • Stay updated with relevant drivers from your card manufacturer's website
    
  • Make sure you are using your main graphics card. Different graphics card manufacturers will have guides on how to always use your dedicated card.
• Add Rune Factory 3 Special to the exceptions of any antivirus program:
  
  • "Rune Factory 3 Special.exe" is the executable file you need to add.
• Turn off any power saving mode your computer might be using:
  
  • Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options
    
  • Balanced or High Performance profiles should be chosen. Any Power Saving mode will lower game performance.
    
  • If you are using a laptop, make sure it has sufficient charge or it may automatically go into a power saving mode.
• Make sure your PC has the latest Windows Update installed.

Not sure if this qualifies as a gameplay issue but my owned DLC aren't activated ingame. The costumes for RF4S and RF5 save data are unlocked, but not the swimsuit day, Ryker's outfit, or the Another Episode DLC.

Any fixes?

Thank you for the report! We will look into this right away, but if you haven't tried it already, sometimes issues with DLC can be resolved by restarting Steam.

I have tried restarting Steam, my PC and even reinstalled the game, nothing. The swimsuit option isn't in the trophy room, neither are the game mode nor outfit are showing up.

It's worth noting that I added the Another Episode DLC to my library when the game was open, which might not have been very wise in hindsight.

Hello and thank you for the opportunity to communicate with the developers.
Are there any plans to introduce volume sliders for the BGM and character voices? Certain character voice lines are difficult to hear.

Hi! Congrats on the launch of another lovely Rune Factory game. :) I'm having trouble fulfilling a request for the blacksmith, where you have to hammer down some rocks to get iron. For some reason, hitting any of the rocks I see with the hammer just destroys the rocks with no iron. Is this a bug, or is it just something I am missing?

I am having issues with my owned DLC not activated in my game too. The swimsuit day, Ryker's outfit and the Another Episode DLC are all not in my game even though they are installed. Nothing I do are able to resolve those issues.

Thank you for the reports about the DLC not unlocking. We have verified the issue and are looking into a resolution. We apologize for the inconvenience and will update this thread once it is resolved.

Congrats on the launch, thanks for bringing back my favourite harvest moon game. Although, I have been having trouble with the game crashing as soon as I try to play a new game, please help.

I'm experiencing the same issue- I've tried several combinations of graphics and game settings, but it crashes to desktop whenever I select "New Game" from the menu.

you need to hammer the rocks in the forest, the ones with ore. the plain rocks in your farm don't give anything

Glad not to be the only one, suggest you two send an e-mail to support like I've just done with the DxDiag, DMP file, and the settings information. Hopefully they'll have an answer sooner rather than later.

I can't get past naming my character. I just want to use the default name, but every button I press immediately puts the cursor over "Cancel" and I'm just stuck in a loop of that. I can't get the cursor to switch to "OK" at all. I'm playing with keyboard/mouse.

Yea I'm getting this as well Im wondering if this is very common for everyone else already waiting for a reply after sending an email
