Oh, I didn't realize 4 was the first to let you play as a girl, since I started with 4. That's a shame. Well, thank you for the confirmation.
Technically, not the first game, Rune Factory Tides of Destiny was the first game that let you choose between a male and female character, as well as bachelors. But as the other titles, Tides of Destiny isn't that popular.
Gotcha. Thx.
At least if it's any consolation, the story is very entertaining and the candidates are quite charismatic.
Actually the first one was 2.
You started playing as a boy, but later on you changed protagonist and could be femc if you wanted to.
And the Tides of destiny/oceans... in that aspect it left a lot to be desired. There were only 4 candidates for the femc (the male protagonist had 12) and you couldn't play with her until you passed the story. Technically speaking in 2 you can play longer as femc than in tides of destiny/oceans.
