Sell this to THQ Nordic. We'll have remasters and maybe even a new game from the Darksiders dev team.
That may actually be a good idea. THQ was a$$ back in the day far as I was concerned but once they started making games like Destroy All Humans and Darksiders they showed significant improvement. I'd be down to see them grab the reigns of LoK.
However, even though there are a fair amount of folks who greatly enjoy this series (including myself), I'm not sure there's enough to justify the cost of doing so.
If anything, I can see someone picking up to possibly redo the series, but the storyline is kind of a hot mess. It jumps around a lot with the whole time paradox thing. It'd be nice to see someone pick it up, remarket it and perhaps clean up the storyline a little bit as well as having the intention to actually finish the franchise with a one or two more games.
I think if someone was able to not just bring the old ones back, but also put out some new additions to the series, it may attract some new blood.
Shame that one didn't get a remaster/redo. Could have done great things with it.
Think you might want to look into cryogenic technology in that case.
There's a pretty dedicated following for this series (including myself), but I don't see anyone picking this up.
Best we can do is write in/contact various studios. Kind of like what is being done right now for a remaster of the original .hack games. Cyber connect came out awhile ago and said they couldn't justify doing it because the money just isn't there, but still offered to keep the possibility on the table and encouraged fans to contact them. If enough interest, then they'd start looking into it.
LoK is a fairly old series as well. You'd have to replace at least one voice actor (Tony Jay) and I doubt Amy Hennig will come back.
Sadly it's two voice actors now. We lost Paul Lukather (Vorador) a few years back.
At least given recent news we know there have been a few pitches going on. One of them may stick eventually
Thanks for the update and sorry to hear about it.
The LoK series had a pretty awesome line up for voice actors and other staff from story, art and so on. It's a shame. They did a great job with this series. Sad to see it fade.
Not to mention CDPR are way too find of crunch.
