which game do i start with

Legacy of kain soul reaver, I started with that one and continued with defiance. Later i played soul reaver 2 ( meh)

The camera in Defiance ruins an otherwise fine game. It's unplayable.

The Blood Omen games tell the story of Kain, and the Soul Reaver games tell the story of Raziel. Both characters are major parts in the same story, and it all comes together in Defiance where you play as both Kain, and Raziel.

The best place to start is at the begining, with Blood Omen for ps1, but you could easily just start with Soul Reaver 1, and play only the Soul Reaver games + defiance for the full story.

I started on SR1...my girlfriend's brother had just gotten the game and I was over at her house picking her up for dinner. I saw the opening scene with Raziel's wings getting ripped off him...well...we didn't go out for dinner that night. We stayed in and ate pizza instead.

blood omen 2 still adds alot to the lore and explains alot about the actual treat to the world
