Ancient Kingdoms
My thoughts & feedback
Not sure if the dev scrolls through reviews, so just In case I'll bring part of my review here.

I might've missunderstood some mechanics or got them wrong, but regardless:

- Its hard to tell if a mob that I've just killed has any loot. Sure, if there is something, the corpse won't dissapear, but even if there isnt any, you still have to click, since the corpse wont dissapear immediatly

- I've started in a desert area. In the first "dungeon" I had to kill 8 golems and 1 boss, so I did that, but didn't go back to turn in the quest since the area kinda suggested further exploration. I've spoted a sheet of paper on the ground and clicked on it. I picked it up and decided to go back to the quest giver because there was a boss roaming around, turned in the quest, got the new one that asks me to get 5 pages, went back to the area with pages, and then I was able to collect only 4/5. So I had to wait 5+ minutes for papers to respawn. Its kinda weird that I was able to interact with an object that is required for the next quest, despite not having the quest itself.

- I accidentally skipped one of the starting tutorials and wasn't able to find the "tutorial" page somewhere in the menu. I don't think that was of much importance, but kinda sux that you cannot go back and check that later in case you forgot something about basic mechanics.

- Sadly, I wasnt able to find keybinds menu in the settings. Pressing numbers from 6 to 9 or 0 is miserable. Pretty much every game that requires you to press more that 3 buttons must have keybinding settings. I personally love having def / burst cooldowns binded on my mouse buttons.

- Inventory sorting is absent. Those lil bags inside your inventory later on are not very comfortable to use either.

- Can't compare items from the vendor to the ones im currently using.

- Gathering is aids since there are always a mob or two roaming around every herb. I'd rather had the same system WoW has where you can't take damage while gathering.

- I wasn't really offered a way to restore health and mana out of combat. I do have pots and rarely bandages, sure, but 80% of the time I had to rely on passive regen which is boring. You just stand there in the middle of the cave and wait for your resources to slowly replenish to full.

- Social agro is weird. Harpies were pulling together with scorpions. A classic rule to me is that social agro works only on the mobs of the same type. Wolfes can agro bears, undead skeletons can agro zombies etc. But why scorpion would assist a harpy is unclear to me.

- I felt like Im getting blue items too early. I don't have to explain why its bad, do I? The names of the items are also too "flashy" for their source. Like "Gloves of the Eternal Flame" or something like that. Dude, I was killing bats 5 mintues ago.

- Combat felt clunky as a wizzard. Im not sure if its GCD or some other system, but Its unpleasant to cast multiple spells since there is that weird delay or pause before you're able to cast another spell.

- On the matter of combat, its also kinda boring. At level 20, I still was spamming fireball. Every fight with anything that I cant kill in 2-3 casts is: Buff my spelldamage > Slow the enemy > Spam fireballs.

- The "Despair level 1" area has a weird minimap. Also in the lone lands bottom right side map shows there is a road leading down and then east, but in reality that is just blocked by terrain. I dunno how to comment on that, but its like the minimap doesn't really represent the actual map.

- Zesty Deer Steak had no buff duration description. It just says that it increases your max HP and regen, it is also epic quality, so I personaly thought its some sort of a permanent buff. Apparently its 30 minutes only.

- At 2.5-3hrs mark I was able to find a girl in elven city that teaches me alchemy recipes. But right at the very beginning, in the desert city, there was a vendor that sells you a pickaxe and a shovel. And what are those for? The point is, I could collect herbs from my very first quest, I was getting random ingredients from the enemies I was killing, yet no means to actually do anything with it.

- From the previous point, you cannot really evaluate the ingredients you're getting as a loot, since you cant really tell what is it for, how rare it is, will you get more of that material later, and you cant really tell if you should place it in the bank, sell it etc. I got more than 2 items with Blue rarity like Forgotten Emblem and Fragment of Serenity. Again, 0 clues on what is it for and what am I to do with it.

- Thank God I randomly stumbled upon an NPC that allow you to hire mercenaries early on, since the game doesn't really tell you that there is such a function. Also there is no indication that you can only have 1 mercenary active and summoning the new one will replace the mercenary you currently have. Don't ask me how I figured that out. Might also add that I can press X to make them attack something, but how do I make them run away? Poor Dwarf Warrior died to a Troll we could probably ran away from. Would be also nice to have an option to give them some loot. I have no need in that blue spear that I've just got besides selling it for 50 gold. But Bob the tank that accompanies me would probably liked having it instead.

- Inventory space is disgustingly small. Despite me having 2 additional bags, I feel like I can only loot the most important items, gathering herbs / materials is out of question. I feel like I want to stop playing until this issue is solved in some way, it makes exploration tedious and instead of having fun you are forced to carefully manage your inventory space instead, completeting 1 quest at a time and traveling back to the city to store and sell items.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! We’re definitely working on most of the points you mentioned!

This lost a sale for me. I'm not fighting the inventory boss in a gather, MMO style game where I'm forced to pick what I want to keep...why is there so much to loot in the first place if this i the case make meaningless drop less and give more currency.
