gear scaling/item level
ok bringing this up again because i did the Planar quest in the Twisted Haunt dungeon and the astral projection npc gives me my next quest recommends level 50, i was 44 when i cleared the dungeon. The quest also recommends i get 5000 item level. I had 1300 at the time. I have NO godly idea how im supposed to gain 3700 item level in the next 6 levels.
My weapon is level 25. Valdris dropped an "upgrade" thats level 30 and... a whopping 20 item level higher. And its not even an upgrade i feel like its an objective DOWNGRADE as a cleric because i dont use spellpower and i'll lose a lot of money, so i aint even going to use this weapon

At this point i feel like i could farm this dungeon until i've gotten every possible drop from every boss and maaaaaaaaaybe gain 200~ itemlevel assuming the higher item level items are actually upgrades that are good and not bloat.
I feel like im missing an entire game mechanic, i have a bunch of Essence but so far have no way to use it that the game has introduced. Grinding level appropriate dungeons CERTAINLY is not going to get me triple powerful gear in 6 levels unless the epic items these bosses have so far refused to drop are literally three times as powerful as the blues. One of the level 40 bosses dropped level 20 earrings that are just a downgrade from ♥♥♥♥ i found when i was level 20.

update: the weapon i found was the celestial hammer of light, its the first cleric only weapon i have found so it was kind of crazy to see how BAD it is for a cleric. At least, clerics who heal. I feel like cleric SPECIFIC gear should be heal focused, so things like wisdom, int, mana, mana regen. Not spellpower and damage. Druid/Cleric/Wizard hybrid gear already serves Clerics that go for damage/debuffs.

It's the perfect time to tackle some side quests and explore the dungeons around Eratiath to upgrade your gear before heading to the Outer Planes. You could also start your epic cleric quest—it's still unfinished, but there are already some steps you can take. Have you checked out Skarr's Lair or Krom Razz yet? You might even want to try the Sunken Temple. There’s also the Vault of the Vanished, though that one’s more high-end. More dungeons are coming soon, like a snow giant fortress in Everfrost! :)

And I'll check "Celestial Hammer of Light" stats,

Thanks
I'm like 86 hours in playing solo, not always on my cleric i've played lots of alts, but also explored other places, checked other dungeons (♥♥♥♥ the dungeon with Fear casting emberliches, i think that was krom razz) ive done treasure hunting, im kinda looking for the sparkly things now tho i dont know what the skill even offers. Ive seen the crafting recipe list and nothing there is an improvement but maybe its an incomplete list.
I was at the sunken temple but for some reason Elementals are insanely overtuned; like level per level these guys are stronger than the ELITE GOLEMS (elemental wardens)in twisted haunt having more hp and twice the damage, when a mob my level crits me for 1000 damage im out. I think i have explored some skarrs lair and took down one boss and got a green level 20 shield for it. Skarrs also hit hard and fast
The crown from the questline is still the only epic i have, 5 of my items are still green.

So it feels like the gear curve is out of whack, the last 14-15 levels of my character has seen maybe a 100-200 itemlevel bump. I'll keep farming twisted haunt hoping for actual gear upgrades because all im really looking for atm are gear upgrades to allow me to do the other dungeons. One would expect every 10 levels a new tier of equipment and a new dungeon to get them from with some extra goodies sprinkled in at like 15/25/35/45 but currently the much harder dungeons mostly offer side-grades for me so im stagnating fast

Maybe part of the problem is that spellpower is a stat but ive yet to see healing bonus on any gear at all, so im having to pump wisdom for heal power and gear is giving me spellpower i dont need. Even our Pacify debuff ignores spellpower.
ok so i got a new drop from the level 45 boss Auron Tempest of the twisted haunt. He drops an okay blue necklace, item level 62, it replaces my old necklace that i got from... The level22 boss High Priestess Kaex.
Its 20 item level higher. My character level literally doubled from 22 to 44-45 before getting a necklace upgrade and its 20 item level. I gain 1` int, 1 wisdom, 15 magic resist and lose 50hp.
Now i only need another 3680 item level for the quests recommendation, this is why its kind of a crazy ask and the item scaling is becoming a growing concern
Valdris, the end boss of twisted haunt who is level 50 dropped a blue sword that is actually of LOWER item value than the shadow queens scepter i use that comes from the level 30 dungeon spider boss. 20 level gap and actual downgrade in loot =/
update: ayye finally my first actual epic drop, a chest plate for any class thats a legit 200 itemlevel upgrade, also level 40 instead of 30. I feel like maybe too much level 20-30 sidegrade gear not enough higher stuff
UPDATE: Got some celestial pants off one of the bosses and again, its actually lower item level than my old pants (that i got from baldur stonefist at level 30) but the stats are slightly better for me. But they really should just be level 40
i feel like i should have just made this a thread about the dungeon itself.
1. Enemies can aggro thru walls in this dungeon and thats pretty bad.
2. the spirits drop notes for a book?? I've cleared the dungeon like 8 times and have only just found 1 of the 4 notes geeze that drop rate.
Twisted haunt I would consider to be an early mid tier dungeon. Despite lv 50 being the normal level cap, you get vet levels after that. I would say a new player just hitting 50 is just getting started with the game even if it may take a while to get there as you mentioned, especially doing so solo.

There is a lot of end game content and bosses after that. I am currently 4304 item level and would consider myself mid to high end, there are many people stronger than me, mainly because I haven't grinded vet levels much. Grouping up will definitely allow you to get better gear faster since everything is easier with more players, but you can continue solo if you want. Vet levels are much more required for the tougher content when solo.

Yeah notes are pretty random. I found 2 in one run, 1 in my 4th run, but didn't get the last I needed until 20 runes later. Got lots of dupes though. Each spirit type drops its own note type.
