No idea. I did both routes on all chapters and it never opened. Maybe it's related to the butterfly at the first door when you enter the house? It's the only thing that remained there too by the end.

It's definitely tied to another ending. There's something there, and I think it has something to do with how one heart is purple at the end.

Either that, or the mysterious ???? in chapter 3.

Maybe it's related to the candle colors and herbs you choose when summoning your partner in chapter 1?

there's a ritual looking room near the tv room, i'm wondering if you can use any chants there instead of the bedroom? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I tried picking purple candles and lavender, but no dice. I also tried casting the firstbornes ritual (only requirement is to be near your spawned partner) next to the door since I thought maybe it's a character in there, but the game just told me to go back to the bedroom :(
