Controls?
I am having issues with the controls. I was going to use mouse and keyboard, but you cant remap the movements to the arrow keys. So then i was going to use my Logitech Dual action controler, but it doesnt seem to find it so I cant edit the buttons. When I walk, if I push up on the D pad, I go down and down goes up. Inverting the controller in the settings doesnt fix the problem. Any ideas? Terrible controls so far.... if I could get the game pad to work, I think it would be playable, but I can seem to have it find it. When I put the options on controler instead of keyboard/mouse, the option to edit the controller is still greyed out.

I wish games would let you edit what you want in controllers, not some half assss way of only letting you use the buttons that THEY think you should use... not everyone likes using wasd for movement or space to jump, etc.....

hey if you got a Xbox controller why not it feels good to play a game like this with a controller but if you want to do mouse and keyboard all power to you

I have a logitec dual action controller which is basically like a playstation controller that plugs into the usb... it has worked for all other games that use a controller, but like i said... up is down and down is up and no invert or not seems to fix this....

That is most likely because the game is a port from consoles. I haven't had any issues so far, but I am using a Razer Onza Xbox 360 controller.

If you have access to an Xbox 360 controller I'd suggest trying that. If not then I'm unfortunately not sure what I'd do in your predicament, these games tend to blow with M+K controls, and it doesn't look like the game supports PC gamepads as much as it does "360 controllers".

As a last resort you could try a program like Xpadder or Joy2Key.

Yeah, im editing xpadder right now to see if that will work...

I wish you luck, I couldn't quite get used to the way WASD/Left Stick worked with programs like that, it just feels strange.

Of course it didnt work... now it wont go up or down, but will go left or right. No matter what I do with xpadder, it will not move forward or backward. I can remap all other buttons fine... except moving up or down.... dont know why. The controller is working fine. Now when i push up or down he spins left or right...

Broke down and bought a xbox controller... now all works with the game....

The Default keys are horrible. You need to play this game with a controller, unfortunatly I dispise the XBOX controller and that seems to be the only option here which of course means I'm re-downloading that other program MotionJoy again!

God I hate that program, the fact that game designers only ever cater for the 360 controller and that Game developers only ever want to port games over from consol and never give the method of control a second thought!

Edit . .
Just downloaded MotionJoy and immediatly uninstalled it.
I need an option to play this game with a controller someone please tell me what to buy as long as it isn't an xbox controller or looks like one I hate the asymmetric layout it's not ergonomically correct. I need a controller that looks and feels like a PS3 controller but will work with PC games WITHOUT that annoying motionjoy!

Well, I can tell you that xpadder didnt work either. I originally had a logitec "playstation" dual action controller, but this game wouldnt work on it as you can see from my posts above. Xpadder still would not let me move up or down no matter what keys I binded it too. Not sure why because the keys in game worked... I just hate using wasd and the fact that you cant rebind to the arrow keys is horrid. But I agree, you have to use a controller for this game.. too many buttons to fight with for keyboard use.....

Is it opposite day or are we in backwards land?

The xbox 360 controller is perhaps the most comfortable controller devised. Most people who buy controllers agree with me as evidenced by the fact that there are dozens of choices if you want to buy a playstation3 controller that looks and feels like a 360 controller and only one or two choices (if that) if you want to buy an xbox 360 controller that looks and feels like a playstation 3 controller.

My logic is flawless.

I had the same problem with the controller (moving up instead of down and down instead of up)...if someone finds a solution for that, that would be great.

xpadder has actually become very good. The people making the profiles are excellent and I find it hard to believe thjat I can't tell that I'm running xpadder on games.

I was going to recommemnd it, the xbox controller has very good support and really just is an excellent controller overall. I was a die hard Logitech user for years but when I felt how good that 360 controller felt and how well it worked I was sold. I use a Cronus so that I can use it on my PS3 and it is awesome. The Sabertooth and Onza are both really good wired controllers if you ever want a little more out of your controller.

Sorry but I have a whole host of people that will argue the opposite.
Each to their own, I think the XBOX controller is very uncomfortable to use becuase of the un-ergonamic design. The PS Cotroller sits comfortably in your hand. You know its designed to be held correctly when you hold your empty hands out you do not have to force your thumbs into an unnatural position to hold the controller.

But that is mine and a whole bunch of other peoples opinion that I know you dont share.
So be it.

well for anyone wanting to know how this game plays with M&K you can fully rebind everything

idk what the tc was smoking when he was trying to bind his keys to the arrow keys when he can just use his number pad but this game doesnt need a controler to play 'well'
Vortimous Jun 26, 2013 @ 12:41pm
Okay, your comment that you can FULLY bind your keys is wrong... IF you can fully bind your keys, then bind the movement to the arrow keys.... YOU CANT therefore you cant FULLY bind your keys. Try binding to another mouse button, if you have 4 or 5 .... YOU CANT because it doesnt support 3+ mouse buttons.... or at least not that I can see or tell....
