Also, you should watch your tone - brand new PCs are actually far more likely to experience glitches with software compatibility. You may have purchased a damn fine rig with some high-end parts... but that doesn't mean they're going to be compatible with everything.

However, I have a Realtek Audio device that is managed with the Realtek Audio Control Panel - complete with special sound effects and equalization and such. I had to actually disable all of the special sound effects for the cutscene audio to play properly.
There's a fine example of a PC that will play all of my other 594 Steam games without issue - but this one game (and not even the most demanding game) will give me a problem. So you're not alone in this.
AMD graphics cards don't use the driver, but can still run PhysX-supported games using the PhysX software.
