Deadpool is GONE forever - unless you have it in your library that is (or buy it while keys last elsewhere).
More info:
https://www.facebook.com/notes/the-amazing-spider-man-game/save-big-on-your-favorite-marvel-games-from-activision-before-the-ball-drops/435954626504237
As well as here:
https://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/01/01/deadpool-has-disappeared-from-steam-xbox-live-and-psn.aspx

For those too lazy to read: Licensing expired and will not be renewed. The games affected are GONE FOREVER.

If you want it, your only current choice is GameFly, and they have a very limited amount of keys left.

Be sure to use the coupon code: GFDJAN20 for an extra 20% off, making the game cost $7.99.

1/2/2014 8:40 AM - Update:
AS OF NOW - NO MORE STORES SELL OR WILL EVER CARRY DEADPOOL - EVER.

From Activision: "Activision has confirmed that Deadpool is gone for good. We've also learned that other titles have been removed from their respective digital delivery services."

If you still want a Steam key for Deadpool, ebay is your only choice - but the prices there range from $22 to $40.

Otherwise you can rent it through GameFly... Or do that thing no one talks about on these forums...

Actually that game is still being sold by Amazon and pretty much every other e-tailer.
But I wouldn't put it past them :bagofgold:

Notice would have been nice. GOG let us all know about Fallout...
I did want to buy the game... I guess I'll go rent it from the last video store in town.

Well, actually they did give us a warning on the 21'st. BUT for some reason it was NOT listed on Steam.

You had to really go out of your way to find it.

A twitter post mentioned that Gamefly has less than 5K keys left. Once they sell out, it's all over. The game is gone forever. :meatytears:

Too bad since it really is a good game, and I really enjoyed it (OK, I mostly enjoyed the humor and voice acting actually since the combat was kind of uninspired and repetitive).

RIP Deadpool. Im glad I preordered you

This is stupid. Why end a license instead of renegotiating it. This is a digital product. Every sale is money in their pocket. By pulling it completely, it just encourages piracy since there will no longer be a legitimate way of getting the game.

Because Marvel charges a TON of money for licensing ever since the Iron Man franchise became a mega hit, and The Avengers didn't hurt the brand name either.

It just wasn't worth it for them since Deadpool didn't sell well at all. Too bad really, since I think the game deserves a :Honored: for its humor and voice acting.

Really if they did a better job on the combat (with some cool upgrades and such) and threw in more varied enemies + levels, this game would have been a HUGE hit.

How is it not worth it? The game is already made. It costs them nothing at this point. When Steam sells a copy, Valve gets their cut, Activision gets their cut, the developer gets theirs and Marvel gets theirs. Even if Marvel wants a bigger cut, so what. Isn't it better to make some money on each sale instead of everyone making nothing because the game is no longer for sale? At this point, there doesn't need to be any marketing costs. Since it is digital, there is no packaging cost. The only party absorbing cost at this point is Steam. For everyone else, it is practically free money.
In the digital age, I don't understand the concept of it not being worth it to make something available for sale and download, especially when companies like Amazon, Steam, GOG, etc will only take their cut when the product is sold.

This.

I didn't 'get' the move to pull it either.

Right now Activision doesn't have the rights to sell the game; and Marvel doesn't have the game, so they can't sell it. Activision pulled all of the Marvel games except the last Spider-Man game, so you can't buy anything else...

Oh I don't get the pull either, but Marvel most likely wants a bigger share of the profits, and Deadpool is not selling.

Gamefly still has keys, and it was said they had less than 5000. So the game yet hasn't sold (through them) even though it has been pulled from Steam, and received free advertising on countless forums/web sites.

Sadly word of mouth (and "reviews") on Deadpool are making others stay away. I had friends that didn't want to buy the game until I played it in front of them - just because others say it's buggy/lame/crappy.

Word of mouth is everything in this field, and Deadpool has been deemed "crap" by the majority.

Let me give you an example.
I spent money on GoT Genesis and Confrontation. Those games completely burned me (and I bought them at full price). Now I just don't buy anything from that developer, even though I though Blood Bowl was excellent). I also made sure that others know they will be getting a bum product by chatting with friends, and posting crap reviews everywhere to save people some money. The games have been patched, and most likely improved by now - but I still won't bother playing them because all these years later I still have a sour taste in my mouth.

Moreover, I haven't bought another game from the developer since that time (although I did break down and buy the GoT RPG, which was disappointing as well).

So there is my little example on maybe(maybe) why they are not renewing/renegotiating the license.
