slam doors open while running
I don't know if other people have suggested this. For me it doesn't make any sense to open the doors quietly if you are running away from 'zombinos'. It would be nice to implement this mechanic, where if the character is running, to slam open any openable door on its way.

Even in movies, characters often hurt themselves when smashing through a door, even if it's not locked. Can you imagine dislocating your shoulder, or worse? That wouldn't be very "realistic". Maybe you could get away with one door, but watch out for the second one!

That said, this could be an ability of certain characters, such as a military or a muscular athlete, trained to do this.

Fair enough... But at least making the character open door quickly, instead of having to go through the peaking animation, as it is now if you keep moving towards the door.
It's true that opening a door can seem a bit slow in this game. But in reality, opening an unlocked door takes about two seconds: put your hand on the handle, lower it, push, release. And that's exactly the time of the timed animation for opening a door, therefore it's realistic even if one would like to be able to open them in a second.

Door quality differs a lot depending on where it's at. Most cheap doors inside a home are what are called hollow cores. They are mostly hollow with some cardboard to give the door some rigidity, but would be very easy to bust through. However, the outward facing doors would be solid wood for security reasons. And depending on the building and the use case for the door, inside doors would also be pretty solidly built. The police station wouldn't have cheap hollow core doors for obvious reasons. And if you reach the armory, it should have the most security.

Also keep in mind that they might consider keeping the incapability of door slamming for balance reasons since the game has yet to launch into early access. Do you keep the doors open to give yourself an escape at the risk of letting zombies wander through? With the demo, you learn pretty fast not to leave doors open because of unexpected, but otherwise predictable spawns, so that bit of forethought kinda goes out the window. But those spawns might change come early access allowing that bit of strategy to be viable.

let us bash the doors that we already picklock/open before & hurt us with the doors that havent open yet

Did highlight this issues in the discord there for the developers team, as one of the players make an effort to post a short clip demonstration, when survivor are spotted by the zombies, in an attempt to break away from being caught by the zombie horde, the survivor started to run, but in the short clip though, while the survivor was running to the door and open, the survivor had a motion movement need to creep and open the door feature that split second of delaying. The players there including myself suggested to make it possible, during run time when survivors are running for their lives towards to the door, instead of creeping behind the door and peeking through, straight breaking the door while running through.

Of course to suggest this, theres always an argument for the logic if really implement this. For your info

What about kicking a door open?

In this game, a door is either closed or open.

If it's already open, you just want to kick air?

Unless it's a Shaolin monk demonstrating martial arts, I don't really see the point.

Maybe they could just skip the crouch/peaking animation, and go straight for the opening door, if the character is running....

well, we did what we can in the discord and here in the discussion, is now up to the developer hand if they able to work on this before the actual release.

Bicycle kick the doors as you run, just like Liu Kang!

This is a good suggestion.

I thought it would be better kick the door against a zombie to hurt it or even kill it. That would make noise though.
